Job Description:


  • To Join the PMC team for a Refinery/Petrochemical Complex and ensure that environmental standards and regulations are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
  • To review contractor's environmental deliverables and managing the environmental scope during FEED execution by the contractor.
  • To Liaise with relevant stakeholders including regulatory authorities, community groups, and internal project teams to address environmental concerns and maintain positive relationships. Provide support and expertise on environmental matters to project stakeholders.

Specific Accountabilities


  •  Ensure that all environmental aspects of the project comply with local regulations, international standards, and company policies. Review and assess contractor's environmental deliverables to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  •  Review environmental strategies for project approvals.
  •  Coordinate and ESIA scope and execution for the project
  • Manage sustainability scope and initiatives for the project in collaboration with the project team. Identify opportunities to minimize environmental impact, reduce carbon footprint, and enhance resource efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
  •  Evaluate innovative technologies and practices to promote sustainability goals and ensure alignment with project objectives. Provide leadership in integrating sustainability considerations into project design, procurement, and construction activities. 
  • Track and report on sustainability performance indicators, and continuously seek opportunities for improvement in environmental and social sustainability aspects of the project.
  • Identify requirements for, and scope, of required environmental studies.
  • Maintain accurate records of environmental activities, findings, and recommendations. Prepare periodic environmental reports for management and stakeholders. Ensure that all environmental documentation is comprehensive and up to date.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the project team on environmental matters. Collaborate with engineering disciplines to integrate environmental requirements into project design and execution plans.
  • Network and inter-discipline departments. Interface management with the client.
  •  Participate and Lead Environmental ENVID workshops and develop environmental risk registers.
  •  Review reliability studies, including QRA, where applicable to environmental aspects
  •  Review environmental criteria in design phases of projects.
  •  Develop, or contribute to, Environmental Management Systems and associated management plans.
  •  Oversee implementation of EMSs and EMPs.
  •  Peer review specialist sub-contractor work as required.
  •  Liaise with the local community and other stakeholders on all consulting matters.

Qualifications 


Job Requirements:


  •  Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in environmental engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in environmental profession including  Minimum 10 years Oil& Gas , Refinery, Petrochemicals industry
  • Proven track record in delivering EIAs and other types of assessments
  • Proven experience in managing environmental aspects of large-scale projects, preferably in the FEED stage.
  •        Registration as “Environmental Consultant” at the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA) is preferable.
  •        Experience in technical reporting and presentations.
  •        Familiar with applicable Egyptian and international environmental laws and regulations relevant to the oil and gas industry, and dealings with local regulatory authorities.
  •        ISO 14001 Lead Auditor Certification is an advantage.
  •        Fluent in English.
