    Job Description

    Role Purpose :
    The Procurement Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of activities related to procuring supplies, materials, services and equipments in accordance with established procurement policies and procedures by each respective country. He/she is also responsible for conducting value analysis and contract administration and working with Country departments to develop product, bid specifications and help identify potential vendors. He/she negotiates and monitors various non-merchandise activities and other contracts and resolves related problems.
    Key Accountabilities :
    Procures supplies, materials, services and equipments for the operation in accordance with established guidelines, processes requisitions and awards Purchase Orders to preferred suppliers based on best practices.Develops specifications and/or collaborates with designated department personnel regarding items and services procured, evaluates bid specifications and reviews requirements to ensure they are aligned with the operation's requirements.Determines potential vendors to be solicited for quotes, bids, requests for proposals and researches and identifies potential vendors as necessary.Reviews price quotes, availability of items and/or services, determines compliance to specifications and/or qualifications, makes purchase recommendations to the department and negotiates with vendor representatives as required.Ensures that needed supplies, materials, services and equipments are available when required and coordinates with vendors when substitute items have to be provided.Oversees and negotiates contracts, identifies most frequently procured items for inclusion on standard order form, responds to problems with supply orders and attempts to resolve them.Advises departments on products, procurement options and procurement policy.Maintains contacts with vendors assuring prompt delivery, adherence to specifications and proper pricing.Utilizes the Procurement Software.


    Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Knowledge

    : University degree.A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar field.Fluent in written and spoken English. French is a plus.Strong Computer knowledge, with experience in using Excel, Office 2000, Power Point, MS Word, "MACROS", all Windows formulas & applications.Good understanding of relevant Procurement systems and procedures.Well developed knowledge of goods and suppliers.Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate confidently, effectively and diplomatically.
