The department of Physics at the German University in Cairo seeks applicants for a full-time position of Teaching Assistant. The department invites candidates for an exquisite opportunity to become engaged in an interactive teaching environment.
Position Description:
- Assist in the delivery of undergraduate Physics courses offered to Engineering and Pharmacy students.
- Conduct tutorial sessions, laboratory classes and other instructional activities in accordance with departmental requirements.
- Support students’ academic development by fostering critical thinking, analytical skills and active engagement with course material.
- Contribute to the preparation, grading, and evaluation of coursework, assignments, laboratory reports and examinations.
- Participate in the continuous enhancement of teaching methodologies and learning resources.
- Engage in research activities within one of the Department’s research areas and contribute to ongoing basic and/or applied research projects including interdisciplinary collaborations with other departments.
- Support departmental, faculty and university initiatives through administrative and organizational duties as assigned.
- Contribute to academic and student-related activities that promote the Department’s educational and research objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor/master's degree in physics.
- “Excellent” or “Very Good” graduation grade.
- from 1 to 3 years’ experience in teaching Physics courses at university/college level.
- Very good English skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Good organizational, time management, communication, problem-solving skills and the ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work well independently as well as in a team.
- Cultural Competence in dealing with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
