GL Accountant :
Job Description
·Performs detailed review of Balance sheet reconciliations to identify and understand the open/reconciling items Balance Sheet reconciliations. Should be able to interpret and analyze the flow of information into reconciliation , purpose of reconciliation , aging of open items, confirm it has appropriate backup and track open item action owner , action needed and due date.
·Investigate and follow-up for resolution for open items identified.
·GL accountant is expected to undertake deep dive into ERP , reconciliations , shared drives for information and closely work with location /third party service provider to reach logical conclusions and insights.
·Support Regional lead on initiatives that they are driving for the region for standardization, quality of deliverables and any other improvement initiative.
·Identify and implement process improvement opportunities across the R2R/Reconciliation cycle.
·Ensure SOP are updated as per the current process and are followed in day to day operations.
·Publish and monitor dashboards and reports for management progress overview.
·Maintain regular and effective communication with Locations in accordance with approved governance /interaction models. This communication will include proactive identification of issues and resolving them in collaboration with location.
·Work closely with the third party service delivery team members to ensure changes and process improvements are implemented as per expectation.
·Perform control testing and review reconciliation of continuous basis as an internal control measure
·Reviewer for selected reconciliations on ongoing basis before submitted to location for review and approval.
·Ensure stability for newly transitioned accounts from location. Participate in knowledge transfer and maintain documentation for same.
·One Single Point of Contact for all Internal and External Audit Queries
