In order to turn ideas into prototypes, demonstrations and finally into products, the candidate needs to have a strong hands-on spirit. You will be working with exciting new sensor technology of one of the leading automotive radar suppliers.
We are looking for a motivated and talented working professional to join our dynamic R&D team as an AI/ML engineer. You will be an integral part of a team that is shaping the future of mobility through innovative technology. As an AI/ML engineer, you will be responsible for implementing new features for our machine learning algorithms/models. This includes strengthening and improving the model performance, ensuring a smooth rollout into production, and continuously improving its functionality. You will also add new microservices to the current ecosystem, be part of our SCRUM team and have the opportunity to contribute your expertise and ideas.

Your Role
- Develop advanced machine learning algorithms for automotive exterior sensing, covering object detection, tracking, classification, segmentation, SLAM, Kalman filtering, and 3D reconstruction.
- Write high-quality, tested, and efficient software in Python/Rust for the AI/ML software stack.
- Define and continuously improve machine learning workflows based on industry best practices, fostering adoption within the team.
- File patent applications to strengthen Aptiv's intellectual property portfolio.
- Work in an Agile software development team (SCRUM), engaging closely with Architects and Developers to conceptualize and design auto-scaling solutions worldwide.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of a groundbreaking CI/CD platform hosted across multiple clouds.
- Participate actively in technical discussions within the Agile team, ensuring adherence to coding standards and guidelines throughout the software development process.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and fix software bugs, contributing to the overall stability and reliability of the automotive sensing system
Your Background
Key ingredients for succeeding in this role are your:
- Master's degree 6+ years of relevant experience or PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related field
- #EXP[6-14]
- Skills – Python, Pytorch, Tenserflow , Open CV, Maching Learning, Object detection (2D/3D), Lane detection and segmentation.
- Hands-on experience building 2D or 3D object detection and/or tracking models
- Strong software development skills in Python. You have a passion for clean, well-tested, and documented code. Knowledge in Rust is a plus.
- Deep understanding of artificial intelligence, model building and evaluation
- Expert knowledge in at least one common ML framework ( PyTorch, Tensorflow)
- Practical experience with Docker, version control systems (Git), and code review tools (Gerrit, Gitlab, Bitbucket).
