Job Description

Analyst, Competitive Intelligence, Kroll Settlement Administration


The primary role of the Analyst, Competitive Intelligence is to support the Director, Competitive Intelligence and the larger Business Development (BD) team by tracking and reporting on live matters, key industry leaders, other revenue generating opportunities and industry trends, as appropriate.

The day-to-day responsibilities include but not limited to:


  • Research: Utilizing all available resources, the Analyst obtains, dissects, manages, and distributes court case information for potential settlement administration opportunities.  
  • Reporting: Review and update court case Excel spread sheets for potential case monitoring opportunities. Produce standardized and ad hoc reports. 
  • Salesforce: Database maintenance and management; update Accounts and Contacts as needed
  • Internal Collaboration:  Work with Business Development and Client Services’ teams for research and reporting related to new and existing matters and clients.
  • Other: Complete “one-off” requests for BD team such as downloading various filings and PACER dockets. Projects related to research and competitive intelligence for Kroll Settlement Administration leadership as requested.

Essential traits:


  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working on Pacer (https://pacer.uscourts.gov) and contract reviews. 
  • Experience working with Salesforce for reporting. 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret typical legal documents, such as court dockets and pleadings.  
  • Ability to respond to legal research inquiries.  
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the BD team.
  • Strong analysis and research skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook with experience communicating technical business rules and requirements.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and time-sensitive projects, with changing priorities.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability to approach a problem logically and systematically.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of managers and end-users in the organization and externally.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to efficiently gather and process information in a fast-paced environment are required.
  • A good deal of independent work is expected, so minimal supervision needs required.
