Assistant Manager – Packaging Material Supplier QA

JOB DESCRIPTION:

JOB SUMMARY

• Proper approval and maintenance of compliance status as per Regulatory and Abbott requirements for Suppliers for packaging material
• Focus will be on event management and monitoring of Suppliers.
• Lead investigations to resolve and troubleshoot supplier processing or packaging issues.
• Evaluate supplier quality performance metrics and initiate investigations into trends or repetitive events as required.
• Conduct surveillance audits for packaging materials as per Abbott requirements and defined frequency.
• Maintain Approved Supplier List, Quality Agreements
• Ensure compliance to Abbott Quality System and GMP requirements for Suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier quality performance metrics and initiate investigations into trends or repetitive events as required.
• Assure that proposed changes made to supplier processes are approved and compliant to AN specification and policy requirements.
• Manage packaging supplier recurring CAPA’s on a regular basis by evaluating exception report data and reporting information to appropriate areas of the business (i.e. Purchasing and Operations), as well as the suppliers

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•        Ensure all the Abbott guidelines are followed for approval of Suppliers and “Compliant” status is maintained thereafter.
•        Define correct Process parameters and get them approved. 
Train personnel on operation.
To impart scientific knowledge about the operations performed.
•        Report any deviations observed in goods received at Jhagadia plant Initiate investigation on any consumer complaints from the market.
•        Provide inputs to Purchase for Packaging Material Supplier selection.

• Lead & Co-ordinate QA initiatives related at Suppliers 
• Liaison with Division, suppliers, internal stakeholders for follow-up of action plan.
• Execution of supplier audits under qualification & surveillance program
• Support Technical development for suppliers 

•        Supplier Quality Improvement Plan
Identify key challenging area’s with supplier using defect identification tools. Define supplier quality improvement plan and drive same. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education

Education Level - Bachelors

Major/Field of Study: Packaging, Food / Dairy Science

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

Experience - Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

Experience Details

Working in Food industry with a focus on GMP & HACCP. Lean / Six Sigma experience
