Overview:
We are seeking an energetic professional having hands on technical experience in design and development of Python based Applications and Angular based Interactive Data Visualization solutions.
The individual must have a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and extensive experience building multi-tier applications. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. Attention to detail and creativity in problem solving are critical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently delivers key modules or components of a major project or multiple projects.
Provides technical design for key modules or components of a project.
Develops scalable solutions by leveraging existing BlackRock environment, and if that’s not possible, develops solutions with multiple points of leverage than silo solutions.
Resolve operational issues while working with other technical teams located across the globe.
Provides solutions to complex problems, based on credible, well-informed analysis.
Project planning with Agile Methodologies: Plan, execute, and enhance projects with the help of Agile tools and techniques like user stories, sprints, retrospectives, backlog management and kanban boards.
Flexibility and willingness to learn and work on various programming languages as per project needs.
Provide development estimates on projects and tasks.
Perform peer code review.
Plan, document and conduct unit testing.
Develop and assist in implementing and maintaining new processes to increase the operational efficiency of the team, including automation/standardization efforts.
Develop and maintain up-to-date process flow documents for all tasks related to assigned processes.
Constantly evaluate systems, processes, and procedures for inefficiencies, and make recommendations for improvement.
Mentor and foster team members in design and development.
Follow and improve coding standards, quality and delivering results.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
Eligibility Criteria:
6 to 9 years of relevant software programing experience (preferably in finance industry).
Proven ability to act as the Subject Matter Expertise for core aspects of a project, technical module, or a major component.
Extensive experience in technical design for key modules or components of a project or multiple projects.
In-depth working knowledge of Python programming language including libraries for data structures, reporting templates etc. Extensive knowledge of writing Python data processing scripts and executing multiple scripts via batch processing.
Extensive experience creating web applications with front-end frameworks like React or Angular.
Experience in writing complex SQL, stored procedures in Snowflake or Sybase.
Experience working with software version control systems like Git or Subversion.
Ability to work under pressure and take ownership of issues.
Demonstrates strong stakeholder management skills. Ability to delivers clear and well-organized global communication across various business groups.
Has a proven track record of performance that resulted in highly satisfied business partners.
Demonstrates passion for Business and can connect the dots.
Experience working with global project teams spread across several time zones.
Flexibility of shift timings.
Desirable
Use of APIs and understanding of HTTP and REST architecture.
Experience with sales CRM systems like Microsoft Dynamics, portfolio risk reporting tools.
Knowledge in any one of the visualization tools like Power BI.
Exposure to technologies like data science and machine learning.
Experience working on LLM and Gen AI projects.
Knowledge and interest in the financial services industry domain strongly recommended.
