Overview:


Designs major components or major portions of Aircraft Interiors Systems. Develops or improves products and facilitates manufacturing operations. Collaborates with cross functional team including the Business unit in Germany and USA. Meets program schedules and budgets.


Position: Associate Manager (M3) – Mechanical Engineering


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Leads Commercial Seating Design and Sustenance support Engineers.
  • Manages design, drafting and testing activities to ensure smooth and Technical Excellence in Project Execution
  • Innovative Design Leadership - Ability to lead and inspire teams in the creation of innovative seating solutions that enhance passenger comfort, safety, and the overall flying experience.
  • Develops budgets and estimates labor and material costs to ensure cost effectiveness of design activities.
  • Guides and directs the preparation of new or revised designs, drawings and working plans to improve Seating design and facilitate manufacturing operations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Leadership in working with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
  • Provides technical guidance and assists in training engineers to help them diagnose and solve problems and build capabilities.
  • Participates in Engineering Change Management Process
  • Ability to read, understand and create technical drawings, sketches (software NX, Teamcenter)
  • Experience on CI – Lean and/or 6 sigma / Root Cause Analysis (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office – Word, Excel, and Presentation
  • Communicates with business units in USA (effective written and verbal communication is required for the purpose of achieving successful job performance)
  • Team Player and Interpersonal skill to work with cross functional team.
  • Attention to details to ensure high quality work to customers.
  • Good to have working experience on Aerospace grade mechanical system / component, testing, Part 25 FAA certification & qualification (Interior components, Seating system, Galleys, Lighting)

Basic Qualifications:


  • 7 to 9 years of Industry experience with experience in New Product Development / Manufacturing / Project Engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and or master’s in mechanical design /manufacturing / production engineering
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in managing small team including mentoring and training new joiners.
