Associate Technical Director - Mobility Structures

Role description:

This role is part of Arcadis’ Global Excellence Centre (GEC) and will join our 3,000+ talented individuals working in India, Romania, and Philippines, in partnership with Arcadis’ offices globally. The GEC brings key capabilities and capacity to support our clients seamlessly around the world.  For those in GEC there are options to be dedicated to one country; developing deep knowledge and strong relationships, as well as opportunities to be part of teams working truly globally as a centre of excellence, offering diversity and variety.  Arcadians are by nature, globally minded and culturally aware, and Arcadis strongly believes in flexibility which enables change over time as your career progresses. This is a new role to develop our team in Noida, India. The role involves technical delivery of projects within civil structures  team, focusing on railway bridges, highway bridges, pedestrian bridges, metro, stations, depots, maintenance yards and all ancillary work that comes under mobility structures.  It required managing and supporting the pursuit of significant business opportunities and the successful execution of major projects within an organization. This role requires a combination of technical competencies, strategic thinking, people management, project management skills, and a deep understanding of the business landscape. The candidate needs to manage his/her existing teams and deliver to the expectations of a project in quality, time, budget and a possible value addition. The role is expected to grow our Noida office in terms of competency and capacity. 

Role accountabilities:

1. Developing Competencies in Structural Engineering:
   1. Develop additional competencies to cater to BA’s demands. This may include specialty analysis like FEM, Track Structure Analysis, Wind Analysis, Seismic Analysis, etc. 
   2. Develop a strong 1st line, 2nd line and 3rd line to cater to the increasing demand from BA s.
2. Training and Development
   1. Work towards plugging the gap between supply and demand and prepare GEC teams to cater to future work
   2. Drive and maintain the T & D records with the help of training team. 
3. Focus on Quality Management System:
   1. Drive QMS/PCRA process on all projects with special focus on major projects
   2. Conduct or Drive trainings on QMS on regular basis especially for the new joiners.
4. Cross-Disciplinary Coordination:
   1. Facilitate communication and coordination between the lead office and other disciplines.
   2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and create efficient work culture
5. Resource Acquisition Support:
   1. Assist in identifying resource needs for projects and contribute to strategic resource acquisition plans.
   2. Support in coordinating with other departments or external partners to acquire necessary resources.
6. Knowledge Share Assistance:
   1. Support initiatives for knowledge share across GECs and BA s
   2. Conduct Lessons Learnt or success stories sessions on regular intervals
   3. Conduct Best practices session to improve efficiencies and reduce errors on the projects
7. Team Mentor: 
   1. Ensure the development of the regional-focused team to develop and grow according to the market needs in terms of Capacity and Capability thereby setting the growth targets. 
   2. Oversee competence and quality through a robust Quality Management System, ensuring the timely submission of deliverables. 
   3. Actively liaise with project managers and BA offices, to connect with senior leadership, develop growth roadmaps, and drive continuous improvements.
8. Professional Accreditations:
   1. Help team improve on their professional accreditations with institutes like ICE, State DOTs in USA, etc. 
   2. Assist in organizing continuous education needed for these accreditations
9. Major Projects: 
   1. Handling and delivering Design & Build and State DoT projects with understanding in various tools used in structural engineering, 3D Modelling, CAD production and quantities. 
   2. D & B projects – concept design, alternative technical concepts, detailed design of projects, and involved in construction support. 
   3. Leading multi-disciplinary projects for in Arcadis at Global Level including complex interdependencies of other disciplines.
10. Existing Line Management
    1. Manage and grow existing teams in capacity and competency in Noida.
    2. Deliver ongoing projects as per business norms
    3. Maintain all business parameters including but not limited to billable hours, attrition, Peakon score, growth in numbers, etc.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Masters in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering 
• Chartership with UK or Professional Engineering Licenses from USA or Canada or Australia or equivalent accolade from Europe would be a plus.
• Software Proficiency: Midas Civil, Staad Pro, LUSAS, SAP 2000, Robot, Procon, etc. Familiarity with BIM tools and technology. 
• Minimum 15 years of experience in Structural Engineering Design industry with an experience of working on steel bridge, concrete bridge, post-tensioned bridge, pre-tensioned bridges, segmental bridges, composite bridges , integral bridges, buildings and civil structures. Design of underground structures, Railway Stations, would be a plus. 
• Working experience for International Multi-disciplinary Projects for Railway / Highway / Civil Structures / Metro or Civil Infrastructure in delivering various design and modelling tasks. Must have done a hardcore structural engineering role prior to understand and evaluate the scope of projects from BA s. Having work experience in Design & Build Projects is an added advantage. 
• Proficient in written communication and capable of contributing to bid writing processes.
• Familiarity with the industry and Arcadis' service offerings.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to assist in strategic decision-making.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse disciplines 
• Strong Decision Making Skills. These are required to align with GEC’s growth Strategy as well as to mitigate the risk of delivering projects
• Understands Quality Management System / Process thoroughly and can apply the principles while dealing with BA s on large scale projects involving GECs.
