As a Data Scientist in Capital Risk Management team, you will push the boundaries of innovation by harnessing the power of cutting-edge data science and analytical techniques, and will apply these techniques to thoroughly investigate the sufficiency and composition of Capital in all scenarios, from normal to highly stressed situations. By doing so, you will play a vital role in ensuring that JPM remains within the required and desired levels of Capital. In addition, you will actively participate in Capital calculations and contribute to the management of buffers, dividends, and buy-backs. These critical decisions, which shape the future of our organization, are at the forefront of our operations. Job responsibilities


  • Lead the charge on analytics projects, taking them from concept to reality, by constructing cutting-edge data science and machine learning models in Python. These models will enable us to forecast, optimize, and stress Capital and RWA, pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
  • Manage and nurture a team of exceptional data scientists, fostering their growth and development as they contribute to our mission.
  • Craft impactful data visualizations that provide senior management with clear and intuitive insights, empowering them to make informed decisions.
  • Conduct thorough scenario analysis and stress-testing, utilizing the results to drive decision-making and determine appropriate buffers.
  • Embrace a culture of innovation and experimentation, constantly exploring new analytical and statistical techniques to construct robust Capital and RWA models.
  • Collaborate seamlessly across teams and geographies, leveraging data and building analytical tools to help shape the future of predictive modeling.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 
 


  • A very high proficiency in Python
  • Extensive professional experience in data science and machine learning, encompassing statistical models, clustering, regression, neural networks, and time series analysis.
  • A background in finance, providing you with a solid foundation to tackle the complexities of Capital and RWA.
  • Strong data analytics and visualization skills, with a proven ability to extract valuable insights from vast amounts of data and present them in an intuitive manner.
  • A high level of adaptability, thriving in an environment where change is constant and new approaches and experimentation are encouraged.
  • A track record of successfully managing and guiding teams.
  • A lateral thinker with a relentless commitment to execution and exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Effective partnership and communication skills, including the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A strong academic background, with a minimum of a bachelor's degree. JPMorgan welcomes candidates from all academic disciplines.


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills


  • Front-end development, UI design, and dashboarding skills
  • An keen interest and curiosity in Generative AI 
  • Knowledge of SQL
