Engineers are expected to approach platform operations with an engineering mindset, identifying opportunities to improve automation, reliability, and operational efficiency over time

Incident Engineering Support

Provide engineering support during security incidents where platform expertise is required.

This includes:

  • Supporting incident response teams with platform troubleshooting

  • Assisting with root-cause analysis

  • Helping implement fixes and improvements following incidents

The focus is platform engineering support, not incident monitoring or SOC investigation.

Platform Reliability & Continuous Improvement

Work with the wider engineering team to improve the maturity and reliability of FNZ’s security platform environment.

This includes:

  • Identifying recurring operational issues

  • Contributing to automation initiatives

  • Improving platform observability and operational metrics

  • Supporting adoption of new security tools and platform capabilities

Working Pattern

The team provides global coverage across shifts aligned with international operations.

Core hours will align with APAC and EMEA collaboration, with occasional out-of-hours work required during major incidents or platform maintenance windows.

Required Experience

Candidates should demonstrate hands-on experience operating enterprise security platforms.

Typical background includes:

  • 3–6 years in cyber security engineering or platform engineering roles

  • Hands-on experience working with enterprise security platforms

  • Experience troubleshooting operational issues across security controls

  • Experience working within distributed global engineering teams

Technical Experience

Experience across several of the following security platform domains is expected:

  • Endpoint security platforms (EDR / XDR) such as CrowdStrike, Defender, SentinelOne

  • Secure Web Gateway / Proxy platforms such as Netskope, Zscaler, iBoss, Prisma Access

  • Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and application-layer protection platforms

  • Security logging and SIEM platforms

  • Email security platforms and secure email gateways

  • Vulnerability management platforms

  • Network security controls, including next-generation firewalls

Candidates should demonstrate experience operating, configuring, and supporting these platforms in production environments.

Engineering & Automation Experience

Experience in the following areas is beneficial:

  • scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash or similar)

  • working with APIs for platform integrations

  • infrastructure automation or configuration management

  • operating security tooling in cloud environments

Nice to Have

Experience in the following areas would be beneficial:

  • infrastructure-as-code or DevOps practices

  • cloud security platform engineering

  • integrating security tooling within CI/CD pipelines

  • platform telemetry and observability tooling

What Success Looks Like

The successful candidate will:

  • support the reliable operation of FNZ’s security platforms

  • contribute to engineering improvements and automation initiatives

  • help maintain platform performance and stability

  • collaborate effectively with global engineering teams

  • grow technical expertise across FNZ’s security platform ecosystem

Why This Role Matters

Security platforms form a critical part of FNZ’s global technology infrastructure.

The Cyber Platform Engineering team ensures these platforms remain:

  • reliable

  • scalable

  • well-engineered
