Aftermarket Product Expert - Wet Process (Flotation, Thickening and Filtration) - Design Engineer

You will be part of a multicultural Aftermarket Engineering team focused on Flotation, Thickening and Filtration equipment who provide sustainable solutions for our customers. By joining this team, you will have a chance to work in an international environment involving different cultures and challenges.


Your role will be to validate and provide engineering technical support to our internal and external customer requests for spare parts and modernization of FLSmidth Flotation, Thickening and Filtration equipment. The support will also involves supporting legacy products and finding information as well as applying innovative techniques when old parts are no longer available. Technical support of products in a manner that is fit for purpose, follow good engineering practice and internal specifications, that is cost effective and competitive in the marketplace and to ensure that customer requirements are being carried out timeously and in a professional manner.


Your responsibilities
  • Interprets and understands technical drawings.


  • Carries out activities with AutoCAD, SolidWorks and other CAD software to prepare layout, design and manufacturing drawings.


  • Utilize CAD software to transform design concepts into detailed technical drawings.


  • Ensure design accuracy through adherence to industry standards and business/client specifications.


  • Identify potential design issues and propose solutions to improve product or project quality.


  • Modify existing designs based on feedback, changes in requirements, or improvements.


  • Create, update and manage design files and software databases/library where drawings are kept to maintain drawing organization.


  • Develop recommended spare parts list for Flotation, Thickening and Filtration equipment.


  • Assist with parts identification, parts creation and legacy vault uplift.


  • Assist in resolution of non conformance reports, workshop queries and general customer queries related to the equipment or parts design.


  • Stay updated with the latest CAD software and industry advancements to enhance efficiency and productivity.


What you bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.


  • Minimum three (3) years experience in designing equipment solutions or similar role. Previous experience with product design is preferred.


  • Proficient with SolidWorks, AutoCAD and using PLM systems such as Enovia).


  • Proficient with engineering fundamental, design tools and MS Office suite.


  • Deep and broad knowledge of engineering manufacturing processes, materials and global quality standards.


  • Strong technical writing and communication skills in English.


  • Good organizational, multitasking and time management skills.
