The P&E Connectivity Team is seeking a System Engineer to drive feature ownership and delivery for connectivity solutions within electrification programs. This role is designed for an engineer with 5+ years of experience, demonstrating strong system-level understanding, stakeholder collaboration capability, and expertise in managing feature lifecycles in complex, cross-functional environments. The engineer is expected to own feature backlogs, influence prioritization decisions, ensure alignment with customer experience goals, and drive end-to-end feature delivery including planning, validation, and release readiness while ensuring compliance with enterprise standards.




Responsibilities



  • Own and manage connectivity solution features aligned with electrification initiatives, ensuring clear definition, prioritization, and execution.
  • Maintain and prioritize the feature-level backlog based on business value, constraints, and dependencies using structured methods such as WSJF.
  • Collaborate with Product Teams, Cat Digital, business stakeholders, and architects to define and enhance customer experience for connectivity features.
  • Prepare and maintain feature-level documentation, including SRS and MFRD, ensuring completeness and traceability.
  • Create and manage feature requirements for external dependency teams (e.g., Onboard Development, Cat Digital), and track timelines to ensure aligned delivery.
  • Review test cases to ensure comprehensive coverage of all feature-level scenarios and acceptance criteria.
  • Drive defect triage processes and ensure known constraints and issues are documented within feature artifacts.
  • Monitor and improve feature performance, scalability, and maintainability across connectivity solutions.
  • Lead backlog grooming and refinement sessions with development teams to ensure readiness and clarity of implementation.
  • Track feature completion and update status to “Resolved/Closed” after successful validation in field or production environments.
  • Support release readiness, including participation and ownership in Go/No-Go decision-making processes.
  • Publish release notes covering delivered features, known limitations, and defect status for stakeholder communication.
  • Deliver high-quality, reliable, and customer-centric connectivity features aligned with electrification program objectives.
  • Maintain structured technical documentation and ensure compliance with BIQ, ISO, and cybersecurity standards.

Degree Requirement:



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Identifying tools/scripts using python to effectively analyze data

  • Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders, architects, and development teams.
  • Ability to document requirements, decisions, and release information clearly.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration across distributed/global teams.
