What's the opportunity?

We are looking for a talented Facade Engineer or Senior Engineer to join our vibrant and friendly facade engineering team in Mumbai. 

This role will see you working as part of a talented specialist team focussing on a portfolio of innovative, pinnacle projects in India. This is a client-facing role, and we will expect you to lead projects for the facade discipline. 

You'll be working alongside industry-renowned experts in the field and drawing upon the skills and knowledge of other related disciplines such as fire engineering, sustainability, MEP, and asset management. 

We're looking for someone that wants to work on technically demanding projects and with such an enviable portfolio -  including recent deliveries such as the Museum of the Future in Dubai, Battersea Power Station redevelopment, and Vauxhall Cross Island -  we can offer an unrivalled opportunity to push boundaries.

Ideally you will be an established Senior Engineer who can confidently provide design leadership in the Facades Discipline, from a secure technical base. Additionally, this role might suit an experienced Engineer ready and eager to take the next step and take the lead on complex projects. 

Naturally this role will require you to be able to understand and react to the changing design of the overall building and be able to communicate your ideas clearly in speech and good quality hand sketches, or other means as necessary. The ability to develop ideas convincingly “on the page” in a meeting will be a significant advantage. 

At the core of this role is the responsibility to: 

• Play the role of Design Team leader as well as Design Review Engineer for projects led by the India team
• Work as part of a single or multi-disciplinary team attending and chairing meetings with architects, contractors, etc. in an advisory capacity.
• Developing jobs technically from inputs & ideas provided by Project Leader / Job Leader.
• Provide inputs to the design team members, teamwork hours planning & ensuring quality output for project specific delivery.
• Good presentation and communication skills.
• Support senior staff in providing strong design leadership on Façade deliverables & ensuring work commitments are met.
• Maintain good client relations throughout the job and work with a variety of stakeholders. 
• Mentor more junior team members, potentially leading to line management.

We envision that this position will interest a technically competent person with a solid foundation of Façade Engineering experience and provide an opportunity to further advance your career whilst working on some iconic global projects.

In return, we would expect you to be able to demonstrate majority of the following: 

- Awareness of different type of façade systems, cladding systems & materials. You should be able to demonstrate knowledge of at least three materials & system.

            - Awareness of basic weather Performance Issues.

            - Should be able to demonstrate good eye & inclination for architectural / facade component detail design including

               Aesthetics & standardisation process techniques to ensure rapid drawing delivery.

            - Knowledge of Fundamental Building Physics: Ventilation, Solar gain control, Thermal Insulation, Glare control etc.

              would be an added advantage.

            - Experience of the practical aspects of handling and fabrication processes shall be an added advantage.

• Good awareness of the problems and constraints of the other major design disciplines such as Architectural, Structures, Services, Fire Engineering, Acoustics, and Computer modelling etc. 
• Should be able to demonstrate hands on experience of drafting in ACAD in various façade systems & components. Working in Revit with façade systems shall be an added advantage.
• Solid education in Civil, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a joint qualification in any of these. Ideally BEng/BArch in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in Facade Design consultancy or engineering firm.
