About Us: FWRS Group delivers best-in-class Ethernet products and is part of the Data Center Group which is at the heart of Intel's transformation from a PC company to a company that powers the cloud and billions of smart, connected computing-devices. FWRS compelling Ethernet products move the world’s data and are the foundations of cloud service and telecommunications data centers. We are a team of problem solvers, experimenters, and innovators who are dedicated to designing the network technologies that currently lead and continue to transform datacenter ecosystems. As a world-class organization, we’re looking for outstanding talent to accelerate our growth during an exciting time in Ethernet networking marketing technology. If you're ready to be a part of this journey, then we want to hear from you.
Define validation strategy and test plans for firmware/embedded features across pre-silicon (sim/emulation/FPGA) and post-silicon environments.
Develop and maintain automated Python based test frameworks for functional, regression, stress, performance, power, and reliability validation.
Validate firmware for low-level subsystems (boot flow, PCIe, memory, power/thermal, security, manageability, storage/network as applicable).
Validate firmware with Linux based System platforms with SW drivers/tools.
Own triage and root-cause analysis of failures; isolate HW vs FW vs SW/tool/test issues; provide actionable debug data and reproduction steps.
Create/maintain test infrastructure for Simulators/Emulators: CI pipelines, dashboards, log collection, test result analysis, and release sign-off criteria.
Collaborate with firmware dev, hardware design, architects, and system/software teams to close issues; track defects through to resolution.
Support board/platform bring-up.
Mentor engineers, review test code, improve coverage, and enforce quality practices.
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
6+ years of experience in Firmware and System/Hardware validation.
Must-Have:
Strong embedded and system validation fundamentals: understanding of firmware execution, interrupts, DMA, resets, boot flows, HW-SW driver interactions etc.
Test automation proficiency: Python, pytest based; ability to build robust, maintainable automation and log parsing/analysis.
Strong hands on experience on Emulators, Simulator and/or FPGA prototyping
Debugging/triage skills: interpret traces/logs, use JTAG/SWD/GDB, read register dumps, bisect regressions, and reproduce scenarios/failures.
Experience with validation methodologies: coverage planning, risk-based testing, test case design, regression gating, and defect lifecycle management.
Clear communication: writing test plans, bug reports, and sign-off summaries; cross-team collaboration.
Good to have:
Traffic generators tools like IXIA, Iperf, Scapy etc. • Architectural understand of Infrastructure Processing Unit (IPU), Network Interface Cards (NIC), Data Processing Unit (DPU)
Interface expertise: PCIe, DDR, NVMe, Ethernet, USB, I2C/SPI/UART, GPIO, power management.
Post-silicon lab skills: scope/LA usage, protocol analyzers (PCIe/Ethernet as applicable), board bring-up, and HW workaround validation.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control (Git).
