LET’S TALK ABOUT YOU Your profile • You have completed a master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering or a related technical field • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in full-stack software development for industrial or enterprise-grade systems • Strong backend development skills in C++, Rust, Java or C#, complemented by scripting languages such as Python • Solid frontend development experience with modern web technologies and frameworks (e.g., TypeScript/JavaScript, Angular, React) including HMI/visualization concepts • Profound knowledge of Linux operating systems, including system services, networking, packaging and hardening • Experience in developing software for real-time or near-real-time operations, including performance optimization, redundancy and high-availability concepts • Experience with enterprise system architectures, databases (SQL/NoSQL, time-series), message buses and API design (REST, gRPC) • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and virtualized deployment environments is a plus • Knowledge of energy automation protocols and standards (IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3, OPC UA) is a strong plus • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices including version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and agile methodologies • Awareness of cyber security principles in industrial environments (e.g., IEC 62443) is a plus • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams • Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus Your responsibilities • Design, develop and maintain full-stack software features for grid control and monitoring systems, from backend services to operator-facing user interfaces • Develop robust, high-performance software components for real-time data acquisition, processing and visualization on Linux-based platforms • Implement integrations between control system software and enterprise systems (e.g., historians, asset management, IT/OT interfaces) using standard protocols and APIs • Contribute to the design of scalable, redundant and secure system architectures together with the software architect • Develop and maintain automated test suites, CI/CD pipelines and deployment artifacts (packages, containers) for reliable software delivery • Collaborate with domain experts to translate power system and operator requirements into intuitive, reliable software solutions • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions and continuous improvement of development practices • Support the creation of demonstrators and prototypes for new portfolio elements together with the portfolio development team • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the development team • Stay current with advancements in software technologies, real-time systems and energy automation Your opportunities for personal growth • You will be part of the future-oriented Grid Automation Portfolio Development team and contribute to developing our Internet of Energy business, which has a strategic importance for Siemens Energy on becoming a leading digital company • You will be accumulating experience regarding the entire portfolio of products, solutions and services of our Grid Technologies business and will have exposure to all management levels, which will give many options to develop your career
