Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced GCP & Teradata Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to lead the design, deployment, and management of scalable, secure, and highly available enterprise cloud and data warehouse environments. This role combines deep technical expertise in Google Cloud Platform, Teradata, infrastructure automation, and operational management to ensure system resilience, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will work across development, operations, and security teams to support a cloud-first strategy, automate workflows, troubleshoot critical incidents, and drive continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise data and analytics initiatives.
Software Requirements
Required Skills:
Extensive hands-on experience supporting scalable, secure, and resilient environments on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (5-6 years)
Strong expertise with Terraform (latest versions) for infrastructure-as-code management and automation
Programming proficiency in Python, Go, or Java supporting scripting, automation, and operational tools
Demonstrated experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring (GCP native or third-party)
Deep understanding of cloud security architecture, IAM policies, encryption, and compliance standards
Preferred Skills:
Supporting automation with AI/ML integration for operational workflows (preferred)
Experience with other cloud platforms like AWS or Azure for hybrid cloud management
Overall Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on GCP supporting enterprise workloads
Develop and maintain observability solutions for real-time monitoring, incident detection, and performance management
Automate deployment, scaling, and incident response workflows leveraging infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
Troubleshoot and resolve outages and security issues, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to enforce best practices supporting security, compliance, and high availability
Lead cloud migration projects, environment provisioning, and continuous optimization efforts
Develop documentation for architecture, operational procedures, and security policies
Continuously research new cloud services, automation techniques, and DevOps practices to improve operational efficiency and cost management

Essential: Python, Go, or Java supporting scripting and automation (preferred)
Supporting: Bash, Shell scripting
Infrastructure & Cloud:
Essential: GCP services supporting scalable, secure data and application environments (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Cloud Run, etc.)
Preferred: Cloud security architecture, Identity & Access Management (IAM), VPC design
Automation & Configuration:
Essential: Terraform (latest version) for infrastructure provisioning and automation

7+ years supporting cloud architectures, solutions, and operations within large enterprise environments
Proven experience supporting production environments on GCP and Teradata data warehouses
Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and orchestration tools
Experience troubleshooting high-availability systems, outages, and security incidents
Familiarity with regulated environments in finance or other critical sectors (preferred)
Day-to-Day Activities
Design, deploy, and support scalable, secure cloud environments on GCP supporting enterprise applications and data workloads
Monitor system health, perform incident analysis, and implement preventive measures for operational stability
Automate deployment, scaling, and incident response tasks through infrastructure as code and scripting pipelines
Support cloud migration initiatives and environment provisioning for business needs
Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and development teams to optimize performance, security, and cost efficiency
Conduct root cause analysis for outages, security breaches, and performance issues
Keep up-to-date with evolving cloud features, automation tools, and best practices
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields
Relevant cloud certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or Azure certifications (preferred)
Proven experience in managing large-scale GCP environments supporting enterprise data and application workloads
