Your role and responsibilities

IBM India Systems Development Lab is looking for Firmware Engineering Professional in the IBM Power Systems Firmware Development team.

• You will be responsible for developing System Firmware that runs on IBM Power Systems spanning entry level servers to enterprise level high end servers with feature in Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability (RAS).
• You will work in design and develop of embedded firmware for a PPE42 based 32-bit microprocessor.
• You will be involved in defining and implementing high performance software by demonstrating a strong understanding of Embedded Hardware Design.
• You will contribute in developing an environment of continuous improvement across product lines and development groups

Required technical and professional expertise

• Experience of 5 to 8 years in Firmware Development.
• Expertise in Enterprise server firmware development ( Secure Boot Flow , RAS )
• Proven programming skills in C++ with OOPS (base level), Assembly, python scripting
• RTOS/OS, multi-threading, device drivers, bare metal programming
• Build systems (Make, Meson, Yocto/BitBake), CI/CD (Jenkins)
• Experience in hardware register manipulation, ISA/protocols
• Experience in I2C, SPI, UART, NOR device drivers.
• Debugging expertise (GDB, stack/deadlock/race condition analysis)
• Demonstrated experience in Firmware/Embedded Software Design & Development.
• Data structures proficiency and code optimisation
• AI tools usage exposure
• Git/Gerrit, Agile, UML exposure
• Good Communication skills for technical documentation
