POSITION SUMMARY and CORE RESPONSIBILITIES


    Plan, coordinate and supervise site preparations and advise customers and contractors for the installation of VARIAN products, to ensure efficient and timely execution of installations according to technical and safety regulations and maximize customer satisfaction. Monitors project completion from initiation through delivery to meet revenue and cost projections.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Coordinate and supervise site preparations with customers, to ensure sites are contractually compliant for VARIAN products installations


•    Provide coordination services by planning VARIAN activities and resources for installation of VARIAN products on prepared customer sites, to ensure installations can be carried out from start to end according to plans established and contracts agreed with customers


•    Collect documents of Acceptance Test results, to ensure that all contractual conditions are met according to schedule for final handover of the installation project to the customers


•    Establish and manage work programs for installation and upgrades of VARIAN products for all parties involved (VARIAN departments and 3rd party sub-contractors), to ensure that installations are completed according to specifications and schedule and that customers can sign the Acceptance Letters


•    Interface externally with customers / 3rd party vendors / architects for the timely execution of projects to ensure that they can perform their work according to established installation project plans and that necessary actions are taken to resolve issues and problems


•    Coordinate   external   contractors’   activities   on   installation   sites (architects, rigging companies etc…), to ensure that they can perform their work according  to  established installation project plans and that necessary actions are taken to resolve issues and problems



•    Record all information resulting from installation meetings and site inspections with customers, VARIAN installation engineers and external contractors, to provide all parties the necessary information to enable them to perform their activities according to established installation project plans


•    Maintain tools such as MS project, SAP, Gantt charts, trip reports, check lists and escalation reports to ensure coordination work is correctly reported


•    Interface internally with Installation Supervisors / sales organization / order processing / centralized services to provide them the necessary technical support on installations and optimize customer relations


•    Develop and maintain close working relationships between VARIAN sales, order processing, installation teams and European local and regional service managers, to achieve a smooth processing of customer orders according to installation plans and provide regular reports on ongoing installation projects


•    Monitor status of installation projects to provide feedback into the forecasting process


•    Monitor installation process indicators and conduct debriefings, in order to track issues and take corrective actions to solve problems and ensure installations are carried out according to established installation project plans


•    Perform other duties as assigned


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE


Educational requirements: Graduate from University in Civil/ Mechanical/Electrical/ Electronic engineering/Bio-Medical.


Number of years related experience:  Minimum 5 years of project management in healthcare or in a capital equipment field.


 Certification: PMI or equivalent certification desired


KNOWLEDGE


Project Management: Sound knowledge and professional experience of project management (planning and execution), particularly as it relates to working across functional interfaces in a capital equipment field


Information Technology:Knowledge of and professional experience with microcomputers / PC based systems


Customers: Thorough understanding of customers and their requirements


Contract NegotiationsSound understanding and application of contract terms.


Business Procedures: Thorough understanding and application of VARIAN business procedures


Business StrategyKnowledge of Project strategy and sound understanding of businessgoals, i.e., corporate strategy, product and market strategies


Technical expertise: Knowledge of processes and methods used in capital product areas such as product specification, product developments / expansions and product security and safety.


Health & Safety: Constant training to gain and maintain a sound knowledge and systematically apply national laws and VARIAN regulations on health & safety in the workplace environment, particularly concerning radiation and electrical safety.


SKILLS


  • Fluency in the local language and in English, both written and spoken
  • Must be mature and tactful.
  • Sound understanding of commercial terms.
  • Articulate and skilled in interpersonal communications
  • Willing to travel extensively.
  • Willing to work normal and non-normal hours as required to support the customers.
  • Basic Business administration skills
  • Excellent skills in applying VARIAN health & safety regulations to job holder’s work environment.
