Engineer II - Industrial Automation with Data Analyst
Primary Purpose of the Role
Thales is expanding its presence in India through the development of a Group Engineering Competence Centre (ECC), reinforcing its position as a leader in all its markets. Launching in early 2019 in Bengaluru, the ECC will expand Thales’ footprint in its core business areas and cement its long-standing relationship with India.
Strong of more than 500 engineers as of today, ECC will grow to >1200 by 2029.
This role is part of the Industrial Process Engineering function. The position is Industrial Automation with Data Analyst responsible for Dashboard Creation, Maintenance, Upgradation.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Industrial Automation Data Collection – You are responsible for the design of industrial systems and standards, as well as their integration with other systems across Thales sites, with a focus on data collection and connectivity
Data Analyst - You are responsible for data collection, analyzing, and visualizing data to help organizations make data-driven decisions. A key part of the role is designing and maintaining dashboards that display KPIs, trends, and insights.
Detailed Responsibilities below:
Design automation layers to enable real-time machine data collection for performance tracking, predictive maintenance, and OEE improvement.
Implement protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, etc.) for secure and reliable data acquisition.
Work closely with site engineering, IT/OT teams, production, and quality to gather requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
Data Collection and clean data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, spreadsheets, etc.)
Analyze data to identify patterns, trends, and outliers
Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Excel
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and define metrics
Present findings and recommendations to management or business units
Automate regular reporting processes
Ensure data accuracy and consistency
The position is based in Bangalore.

Years of experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in Industrial Automation & 3+ years in Data Analysis
Experience in aerospace or automotive sectors preferred.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor in Electronics Engineering or related field
