Description :-


Position entails end-to-end ownership of Project Engineering activities including concept development, design, analysis, and execution. The role demands strong analytical capability, deep fundamentals in mechanical and thermal engineering, and the ability to independently drive projects with minimal supervision.


The individual is expected to act as a technical anchor, guiding team members, driving problem-solving, and ensuring high-quality engineering outcomes. The role requires effective cross-functional collaboration and strong execution focus to deliver projects on time, with desired performance, quality, and cost targets



Requirement:


M.Tech (Design / Thermal)


  • 12 - 15 years of experience in Product Design and Development of compressor or any other rotating machines applied primarily in Refrigeration/Air Conditioning or any other applications.
  • Hands on experience in handling mid to complex projects with a focus on continuous improvement, product optimization, and technical support
  • Strong analytical capability with expertise in structural and thermal engineering, with ability to solve complex engineering problems
  • Hands-on experience with design calculations and validation
  • Proficient in applying the technical understanding and design principles to the product design and should be able to correlate with actual product testing
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability
  • Experience in project execution, problem solving and sound technical decision-making
  • Experience in using Engineering tools like DFMEA, DFM&A, VAVE, DOE and conducting Statistical Data analysis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Well conversant with presentation through MS tools and experience of presentation
  • Positive attitude and strong team player, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions
  • Creative mindset with a strong affinity for learning and driving innovation

Key Responsibilities


Project Ownership and Execution


  • Act as a key Individual Contributor (IC) with end-to-end ownership and accountability for project delivery with an ability to lead project team.
  • Define and drive project plans, schedules, and milestones to meet business objectives
  • Ensure on-time delivery with expected performance, quality, and cost targets

Design & Engineering


  • Develop and evaluate engineering proposals and Engineering concepts
  • Perform design calculations (thermal, machine design, fluid mechanics) independently.
  • Validate designs for functionality, manufacturability, and performance
  • Verify and review design documents, design calculations, and engineering drawings to ensure functional correctness, accuracy, and compliance with design intent

Cross-Functional Collaboration


  • Work closely with various engineering teams to execute the projects in the areas of product development, cost reduction and Technology projects.

Testing, Validation & Problem Solving


  • Independently analyze complex test data, derive insights, and drive resolution of performance issues
  • Perform validation and ensure compliance with design intent
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions

Project Management


  • Independently Define and Drive project planning, scheduling, and execution with full accountability
  • Identify risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure delivery aligned to timeline, cost, with expected key performance indicators 
  • Ensure closure of projects with proper documentation, including preparation of closure reports capturing key learnings, performance outcomes, and improvement opportunities
  • Drive and follow configuration management practices, throughout the project lifecycle
  • Drive execution with a strong focus on speed, quality, and first-time-right approach

Process Improvement & Innovation


  • Lead initiatives to improve engineering processes, quality, and delivery efficiency
  • Drive adoption of best practices.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning

Engineering Tools & Methods


  • Apply and guide usage of DFMEA, DOE, VAVE methodologies
  • Leverage tools such as GT Suite, Mathcad, and other analytical platforms to drive continual improvement
  • Ensure effective use of engineering calculations, simulations, and digital tools.
