KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for Offshore Structural Engineers to support the design and delivery of critical offshore oil & gas and renewable energy projects worldwide. The role focuses on advanced Detail engineering projects for FPSO structures, jackets, topsides, fixed platforms, and other offshore facilities.
We are seeking an experienced Offshore Structural Engineer with strong capabilities in the analysis, design, and verification of FPSO modules, jacket structures, and topside facilities. The role requires detailed engineering, interdisciplinary coordination, and advanced structural analyses using industry-standard offshore engineering tools to support offshore platform and FPSO developments.
Responsibilities:
Perform structural analysis and design for offshore fixed and floating structures (e.g., jackets, topsides, subsea structures, monopiles, transition pieces).
Carry out global and local structural analyses using industry-standard software such as SACS/SESAM.
Conduct in-place, pre-service, transportation, installation, and fatigue analysis
Perform lifting analysis and structural design of topsides and extension modules, including transportation checks.
Prepare detailed In-Service, Pushover, Fatigue, and other structural analysis reports as required by the project.
Prepare and review structural drawings, calculations, design reports, and engineering documentation in accordance with applicable offshore codes and project specifications.
Review and verify vendor, equipment supplier, fabrication, and construction drawings/documents to ensure feasibility, constructability, and structural integrity.
Prepare and maintain Weight Control Reports, including inter-disciplinary coordination and monitoring of weight and center of gravity (CoG) throughout project phases.
Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams (geotechnical, naval, installation, piping, and mechanical) to ensure smooth information flow and design integration.
Provide engineering support during fabrication, load-out, offshore installation, and commissioning phases.
Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (API RP 2A/2SIM, ISO 19902, DNVGL Standards, AISC, etc.).
Maintain quality and safety in all engineering deliverables.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 15–20 years of experience in offshore structural engineering.
Hands-on experience in offshore oil & gas or renewable energy projects.
Strong knowledge of offshore design codes (API, ISO, DNV).
Experience with structural analysis software (SACS, STAAD, SESAM, or equivalent).
Understanding of offshore environmental loads (wave, wind, current, seismic).
Good technical report writing and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and within project teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Structural / Offshore / Ocean Engineering.
Experience in detailed engineering and brownfield offshore projects.
Exposure to installation engineering and marine operations.
Knowledge of nonlinear, dynamic, and time-history analysis.
Familiarity with offshore construction and fabrication practices.
Experience working with international clients and EPC contractors.
