About this Role

We are seeking a Database Developer & Administrator to design, develop, and optimise database solutions while ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability for business-critical applications. This role involves supporting Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Cassandra environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining strong operational stability through performance tuning, automation, and incident management.




What you’ll do
  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL and PL/SQL procedures, packages, functions, and triggers
  • Administer Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Cassandra databases across environments
  • Perform database performance tuning and query optimisation
  • Manage backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery processes
  • Execute database upgrades, migrations, and deployment activities
  • Support database operations in collaboration with application and infrastructure teams
  • Troubleshoot production incidents and provide timely resolution
  • Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks impacting applications
  • Manage database security, user access, and compliance requirements including auditing and SOX activities
  • Deliver automation using Shell or Python scripting to improve operational efficiency
  • Participate in on-call support for high-priority database issues
  • Support DML operations and ensure service availability
  • Prepare technical documentation and contribute to continuous service improvement


Who you are
  • Experience in database administration and architecture with a focus on operational excellence
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL development (6+ years)
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle (11g/19c), PostgreSQL, and Cassandra databases
  • Experience with Oracle GoldenGate (OGG) is beneficial
  • Strong understanding of performance tuning and optimisation techniques
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud environments and database monitoring tools
  • Experience working with ticketing tools and incident management processes
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments and scripting (Shell, Python or similar)
  • Ability to analyse system performance issues and implement effective solutions
  • Familiarity with backup, recovery, and high availability solutions
  • Understanding of compliance and audit requirements (e.g. SOX)
  • Telecom domain knowledge is an advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
