The Role


As a Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)  with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.


The Offshore HVAC Engineer is responsible for delivering efficient, reliable, and compliant HVAC design solutions for offshore oil & gas facilities, supporting project execution and Worley’s commitment to safety and operational excellence.


  • Design and develop HVAC systems for offshore platforms, FPSOs, and oil & gas facilities.
  • Perform heat load calculations, duct sizing, ventilation design, and equipment selection.
  • Prepare HVAC deliverables including datasheets, specifications, layouts, and calculation reports.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable standards such as ASHRAE, API, NFPA, ISO, and client requirements.
  • Review vendor documents, technical bids, and drawings; provide necessary technical clarifications.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (process, piping, electrical, instrumentation) to ensure integrated system design.
  • Support procurement, fabrication, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, and safety studies where applicable.
  • Ensure timely delivery of engineering outputs within project schedule and budget.
  • Apply lessons learned and support continuous improvement in design practices.

About You 


To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Experience


  • 8+ years of experience in HVAC engineering for Offshore Oil & Gas / EPC projects.
  • Experience in offshore platforms, FPSOs, or similar facilities is mandatory.

Technical Skills


  • HVAC system design for offshore environments.
  • Heat load calculation and equipment sizing.
  • Tools: HAP (Carrier HAP), AutoCAD, HVAC calculation software.
  • Vendor document review and package engineering.
  • Knowledge of international codes: ASHRAE, API, NFPA, ISO.
  • Exposure to commissioning and site support activities.
