Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain in-house mission design software tools for SSA infrastructure analysis & simulation.
  • Continuously upgrade and optimize software programs for the addition of simulation capabilities and improving computational performance.
  • Support decision-making for the design of space-based and ground-based missions backed by simulation-based results.
  • Formulate mission operation plans and conops for optimal utilization of the SSA infrastructure.
  • Create, test and deploy software scripts for planning and scheduling of sensor operation and management.
  • Interface with software and operations teams for successful deployment, testing and operations of mission software infrastructure.
  • Participate in design reviews and technical presentations to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. in astrodynamics, aerospace, mathematics, physics, software or a relevant discipline.
  • Strong development skills in Python, including computational optimization techniques like NumPy, multithreading, multiprocessing and GPU acceleration.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Knowledge of orbital mechanics.
  • Good understanding of optimization and scheduling algorithms.
Preferred Qualities
  • Experience with mission design tools such as STK, FreeFlyer or GMAT.
  • Advanced proficiency in heuristic scheduling algorithms.
  • Exposure to software development, API integrations, cloud computing (AWS), containerization (Docker) etc.
General Requirement
  • Ability to work in a mission-focused, operational environment.
  • Ability to think critically and make independent decisions.
  • Interpersonal skills to enable working in a diverse and dynamic team.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Writing and delivering technical documents and briefings.
  • Verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational skills.
