Meet the Team 


We at Millennium are looking for a People Data Engineering Lead, you will lead a team responsible for building and maintaining the data architecture that powers HR reporting and analytics across the firm. You'll partner closely with the People Analytics Lead to understand business and analytics requirements, and translate them into scalable, well-designed data models and pipelines. 


You'll own the systems that ingest, transform, and deliver people data—ensuring they are reliable, performant, and produce high-quality, trustworthy data the business can act on. This is a hands-on technical leadership role that blends data architecture, engineering execution, and team leadership. 


What You'll Do 


  • Design the architecture: Design and document scalable technical solutions, including data models, data flows, and reporting specifications that support efficient analytics and reporting. 
  • Build the pipelines: Develop, optimize, and maintain data marts and pipelines using Alteryx (or similar ETL/ELT tools) to deliver reliable, analytics-ready data. 
  • Ensure data quality: Implement testing, validation, and monitoring to ensure data is accurate, reliable, and trustworthy. 
  • Lead the team: Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement to deliver high-quality outcomes. 
  • Drive delivery: Work in an agile manner, leveraging Jira for planning, tracking, and documentation, while proactively communicating progress, risks, and issues to your manager and stakeholders. 
  • Safeguard data: Champion data governance, security, and privacy best practices for sensitive people data. 

What You Bring 


  • 5+ years of experience working with HR data (e.g., headcount, talent, recruiting, compensation, performance). 
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and modeling data. Hands-on experience with Alteryx (or similar ETL/ELT tools) to build and optimize data pipelines. 
  • Strong understanding of business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau) and how to design data architecture that meets their requirements. 
  • Experience leveraging AI to develop solutions and connect AI/analytical tools to data sources. 
  • Proven experience managing and developing a small team, Experience with Python and Workday is preferable. 
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex topics in simple terms. 
  • Broad understanding of business and technology, with awareness of trends in HR analytics and HR technology. 
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions under pressure and in ambiguous situations.
