Responsibilities:
Prime-Responsibilities
Responsible for generation of documents such as Master Project Plan, Overall and detailed schedule. Overall Project Progress reports & presentations for management reviews.
To prepare detailed L-1, L-2, L-3 schedules using software packages such as MS Project and rigorous monitoring of project implementation. The major activities required to be performed are preparation of master schedule, monitoring of schedule v/s actual progress wrt overall schedule, forecasting, trend analysis and resources planning.
Monitor critical path & overall schedule on a daily basis by collecting necessary data for the same. Prepare catch up plans, look ahead plans based on inputs from respective sources and report to Project Management Group.
Prepares progress measurement system procedures and carry-out project progress update on stipulated intervals and supports Project Control Team.
Highlighting the resource constraints that affect project progress.
Identify requirement of revision in schedule, raise alert of same to Project Control Manager and carry out revision in schedules.
Shared cross-functionally
Coordinate the cross function discussions. identify the critical activities and supports required for different function and facilitate the project progress.
Providing planning related input in preparation of extension of time request to client.
Key competencies-functional need to have
Experience of central planning cycle in Middle / Large sized projects from concept to execution at shop floor & dispatch
Must have completed minimum one Project Cycle as a central planner
Must have Hands-on Experience on MS Projects / Primavera.
Exposure to Planning, Scheduling, Monitoring and Controlling functions for entire Projects including Resource Planning, Recovery / Crash Planning.
Strong analytical skills.
Monitoring and tracking project progress and writing up reports.
Attending and scheduling management meetings as required.
Understanding and meeting all project planning requirements & deliverables.
Communicating with managers, supervisors, and the rest of the team.
Ensuring all projects are completed on declared timelines.
Strong multitasking abilities.
Strong analytical. critical and logical thinking skills.
A sound understanding of safety protocols.
Ability to focus under pressure and meet deadlines.
Increase Project team members awareness of the Project Milestones, main durations and critical paths.
Monitors and controls the project status, to detect any delay and to propose corrective actions.
Acts as single point of accountability for all central planning & scheduling activities on a project.
Highlights areas of concerns and solutions to help achieve a successful and timely completion of Projects.
Operationally manages the Central Project Planning Team.
Provides Project Feedback and Lessons Learned in order to improve the Planning Scheduling methods and provide input to the statistics of Planning sub departments.
Project progress review, report preparation and backlog analysis..
Should have good communication and presentation skill.
Review of Engineering drawings from manufacturability point of view.
Development of work planning procedures based on project requirements, applicable standards and good engineering practices.
