Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the structural assessments of repairs to commercial engine components with minimal guidance.
• Awareness of Integrated Product Development (IPD), Structures Engineering Knowledge System (EKS), and the Product Design Review process.
• Support coordination of structural analysis requirements for repairs with other ASE technical disciplines and module centers/ Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs).
• Participate on multi-disciplinary teams to develop design solutions that meet design and life requirements.
• Work on structural analysis solutions with minimal guidance when historical solutions are not available or applicable. Analysis may include both classical methods and/or detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Basic Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Structures, or Production) with robust understanding of Finite Element Analysis and Solid Mechanics

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fluent in ANSYS or other FEA software.
• Awareness of manufacturing and/or repair processes.
• Thorough understanding of low cycle fatigue and fatigue and fracture analysis theory and applications demonstrated through internships or academia projects
• Fluency in programming language like python, VBA etc. would be added advantage

Job Summary:

Pratt & Whitney India Engineering Center (IEC) is looking for a highly motivated Post Graduate Engineer Trainee to join our Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering (ASE) Commercial Repairs team. This position involves analyzing repairs to ensure they meet original equipment manufacturing (OEM) requirements, supporting customer safety, cost, and reliability objectives. 

ASE is uniquely linked between the engine development / certification and aftermarket and field support engine life cycles. This results in our repairs having a direct impact on the bottom line of Pratt & Whitney’s maintenance repair and overhaul revenue and success.

The Post Graduate Engineer Trainee closely interacts with fellow ASE engineers from structures, design, project, and program, along with other module center engineers from the CIPT and design metallurgy, among others, to develop technical data to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
