Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a skilled Postilion Implementation Specialist to design, configure, implement, and support ACI Postilion solutions for ATM, POS, and online payments. The candidate will lead end-to-end Postilion deployment activities, integrate with core banking systems and CMS, ensure security and compliance, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders across locations. This role demands deep payments domain knowledge, strong technical acumen, and the ability to drive successful, on-time implementations.
Software Requirements
Required Skills (Essential)
Hands-on experience with ACI Postilion (Postilion RealTime / Office) for switch deployment, configuration, and support
Deep knowledge of Postilion components: ATM/POS device handlers, transaction routing, message parsing/formatting (ISO 8583 DEs/fields)
Experience integrating Postilion with Core Banking Systems and Card Management Systems (CMS)
Proficiency with payment message flows and lifecycle (Authorization, Clearing, Settlement)
Working experience with ENTIA, Oracle, and IBM MQ
Knowledge of ISO 8583 interfaces, card payment schemes, and dispute processing
Experience performing SIT/UAT testing and providing production deployment support
Strong SQL skills for reconciliation and data validation
Excellent written and verbal communication for BRD/SRS, IA, Fit/Gap, and project documentation
Ability to manage client configurations, implement patches, and coordinate deployments
Preferred Skills
Experience with Visa/Mastercard scheme testing and certifications
Knowledge of PCI-DSS or other banking security/compliance standards
Familiarity with cloud deployments (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and Openshift
Experience with automation scripting (Shell, Python) and test automation
Familiarity with fraud systems integration or tokenization/digital payments
Overall Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end Postilion implementation projects (ATM/POS acquiring & issuing), including requirements gathering, design, configuration, testing, and deployment
Configure Postilion routing, message parsing/formatting, and device handlers; ensure seamless integration with Core Banking and CMS
Translate business requirements into technical designs, BRDs, and IA/Gap analyses; contribute to project plans and estimates
Support ISO 20022, ISO 8583, and payment modernization initiatives; manage scheme certifications as needed
Manage and coordinate with cross-functional teams across locations (product, delivery, QA, operations)
Troubleshoot incidents, analyze logs, and resolve payment processing issues; perform root-cause analysis
Maintain and create project documentation, deployment guides, test plans, and governance artifacts
Ensure modifications are engineered, tested, and packaged for client installation or handover
Monitor and participate in channel testing, UAT, go-live, and post-implementation support
Mentor junior team members and contribute to process improvements and best practices
Experience/Skills Required
6–10 years of experience in payments technology, banking applications, or financial services technology delivery
Strong hands-on experience with ACI Postilion (Postilion RealTime / Office)
Proficiency in Postilion CMS-related configuration and integration tasks
Working knowledge of ISO 8583 (1987/1993), card interchange standards, and ATM/POS device handlers
Experience with ENTIA, Oracle, and IBM MQ; SQL-based reconciliation
Experience in API/host integrations and modernization initiatives
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and cross-functional collaboration
Strong problem-solving skills and stakeholder management
Preferred Experience
Finacle or other core banking integrations experience
Cloud deployment exposure (Azure/AWS/GCP) in banking contexts
Knowledge of data security and encryption in payments
Experience with testing (SIT/UAT) and production go-lives
Day-to-Day Activities
Engage with stakeholders to capture business and technical requirements for Postilion projects
Lead configuration, integration, testing, and deployment activities for Postilion solutions
Develop and maintain BRD, SRS, IA, Fit/Gap, and project documentation
Execute SIT/UAT and coordinate with CIO organization for test plans and results
Troubleshoot payment processing issues, reversals, or reconciliation discrepancies
Provide technical input to developers and participate in code/quality reviews
Manage environment setups, patching, and release planning
Mentor and coach team members; drive continuous improvement
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Certifications in payments technology or enterprise software (preferred)
