Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a highly skilled ETL Power BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain data integration and visualization solutions that support enterprise analytics and decision-making. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements, build robust ETL pipelines, and create interactive dashboards leveraging Power BI and related tools. The ideal candidate will contribute to enhancing data-driven strategies, streamline data workflows, and support continuous improvement initiatives to maximize business value.
Software Requirements
Required Skills:
Strong expertise in Power BI, including Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Dataflows, and Datasets
Experience with ETL tools and processes supporting data ingestion, transformation, and modeling (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent)
Proficiency in SQL, with experience in complex query writing, data modeling, and performance tuning
Hands-on experience with data management across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling (star and snowflake schemas)
Knowledge of data security, governance, and compliance standards
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, understanding business KPIs and translating them into technical solutions
Preferred Skills:
Experience with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS for data storage and processing
Knowledge of Data Lake architectures and big data tools (e.g., ADLS, Databricks)
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or R for data processing and automation
Experience with Power BI administration, deployment pipelines, and governance practices
Overall Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize ETL processes and Power BI reports/dashboards supporting enterprise analytics needs
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and KPIs; translate them into technical specifications
Build data models and relationships to ensure accurate, scalable, and performant reports
Automate data pipelines for data refresh, transformation, and integration workflows
Develop and implement best practices for data security, access control, and documentation
Monitor report performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize visualizations for usability and efficiency
Support data governance efforts, audit compliance, and documentation standards
Stay current with advances in Power BI, data management, and analytics technologies, sharing best practices with the team

Hands-on experience working with cloud data platforms and automated data workflows
Industry experience in finance, retail, or other data-driven sectors is a plus
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop, test, and deploy scalable ETL workflows and Power BI reports/dashboards
Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate KPIs into reports
Optimize data models, queries, and refresh processes for performance and usability
Troubleshoot data quality issues and dashboard performance bottlenecks
Automate data ingestion, transformation, and visualization workflows
Support ongoing data governance, security, and compliance initiatives
Document data pipelines, report specifications, and best practices
Participate in agile ceremonies, review sessions, and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or related fields
4-14 years of experience in ETL development, data visualization, and BI solutions
Proven expertise in Power BI and enterprise data modeling
Certifications in Power BI, Azure Data Solutions, or equivalent are advantageous
