Procurement Manager
Role
- Work closely with various G&A other service procuring teams to understand their procurement needs
- Develop structure around procurement decisions, ensure mechanisms to provide for transparency in the function like Supplier short list criterions, suppliers short lists, decision matrix for procurement decisions
- Identify suppliers for specific procurement, negotiate and present the cases of best suppliers to the end users and authorized approvers
- Consolidate various ad-hoc procurements into a few comprehensive arrangements – one stop supplier arrangements
- Reduce advance payment requirements through sustained supplier relationships
- Facilitate suppliers to adhere to Morningstar process and systems on procurement and payments
- Build mechanisms to ensure all anti-corruption laws are followed by all stakeholders – internal and external, in letter and spirit
- The position currently is an individual contributor position
Requisites
- Experience of procurement in indirect procurement for 6 – 10 years
- Demonstrated ability in Supplier selection, development and negotiation
- Should be able to gain insights into the domains of requesting functions and appreciate operating nuances to optimally serve as a support function
- Is able to build create great partnerships with various requesting teams
- Ability to build processes and structure around procurement activities
- Strong negotiation skills, while maintaining quality as well as fairness to all stakeholders
- Integrity is of utmost importance in the role - the role needs to stay above all doubts, by provision of maximum transparency and staying away from conflict of interests
- Ability to bring in out of box solutions
- Understands priorities while not losing long term view
- Pursues results rather than just processes
- Reasonable communications skills, especially on emails
- Prior experience on procurement systems like Coupa etc preferable. Alternative experience with ERPs involving workflows can be considered
- Strong analytical skills with experience in analyzing spend, tracking savings, and analyzing contract compliance. Proficiency in Excel strongly preferred (in some cases, analyzing large data sets using functions like VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and similar)Experience with sourcing activities including preparing, issuing and analyzing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and evaluating supplier risk and opportunities
- The role is currently an individual contributor role
Qualifications
Commerce Graduate – specialization in Procurement shall be an added advantage
Experience
Years Preferably 6 – 10 years, primarily in indirect procurement
Industry : – Preferably Service industry, MNC background, however open to look at good candidates from diverse background
Reporting
- The position shall report locally to Director Finance – India, while reporting functionally into the global procurement team.
