Job description

Name of the position: Stock seed production executive

Job location: Bangalore

No. of vacancies: 1

Age criteria: Between 25 to 35 yrs

Educational background required: Agri post graduate in seed science & technology

Experience required: At least 8 yrs experience

Salary bracket: As per industry standard

Job specification

• Germplasm collection, evaluations, characterization, seed production, Maintenance, and storage

• Responsible for parental line seed production of selected vegetable varieties

• Conducting field Inspection at different stages of crop stage to identify off types

• Conducting seed sampling, physical purity and germination test as per standard procedures

• Conducting Grow Out Test for Foundation & Commercial class of vegetable seeds

• Analysing and highlighting seed characteristics of all hybrids

• Fingerprinting, coding and maintenaing the seed gene bank record

• Phenotypic selection of new experimental lines from segregating populations

• Coordination, conducting and evaluating the trials in specific regions and making hybrid advancement decisions

• Proposing / recommending change in planting ratio, staggering, pollination time etc. and implementing the same in field

• Coordinating with concern departments to ensure smooth running of the production activity

• Ability to analyse and work with complex problems and large sets of data

• Computer skills (excel, ERP systems, planning systems)

• Must be a good communicator & collaborator
