Honeywell India Technology Center (HITC) at Gurgaon (Haryana) is a global technology center for Performance Materials and Technology Business of Honeywell. The center has focus on development and application of technologies in area of Petrochemicals and Refining, specialty additives and Chemicals, Fluorine Products.
Honeywell fluorine product group have an opening for R&D Engineer/Scientist in our Refrigerant laboratory of HITC facility. The engineer is expected to design test setups and experimentally evaluate the performance of new refrigerants in refrigeration and air conditionings systems.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
oPerform simulation of refrigeration and air conditioning systems with limited supervision and direction
oGood understanding of thermodynamic cycles, refrigeration and heat transfer with computing skills to support interface development.
oStrong understanding of numerical techniques. Desirable to understand analytics such as optimization technique, such as Genetic Algorithm.
oHand-on demonstrable experience one computer programming language (FORTRAN most preferred). Experience of using MATLAB and VBA is plus.
oExperience of working as a team with experimentalists to get the necessary data and validation of modelling results with laboratory data.
oInnovative cooling technology for electronics, data centers and high performance servers
oPerform laboratory testing and technical analysis to benchmark current refrigerants and compare low GWP options
oBring in new ideas to improve thermal designs for new refrigerants
oParticipates in the invention/discovery process with professionals
oSupport regional customers in the adoption of low GWP refrigerants
oResponsible for handling all related job responsibilities in accordance with HSE policy
oPerform other duties as required
Additional Skills:
oHands on experience with refrigeration system design and modifications
oKnowledge of heat exchanger design
oBackground in refrigeration systems modeling
oGood understanding of measurement and control systems.
oExperience of using SolidWorks and good command on Microsoft Excel
oWillingness to work in a highly dynamic environment that needs continuous upgradation of skills and tackling new technical challenges on day to day basis.
oAbility to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, and follow through on commitments
oSuitable candidate should be creative yet pragmatic problem solver. Methodical and hands-on as well as detail-oriented with a drive to get results quickly
Experience/Education/Qualification
§Qualification: MS or PhD in thermal/mechanical/refrigeration engineering with specialization in mathematical modelling of thermofluid systems.
§6+ years’ experience in developing workflow systems and tools.
