Working as a R&D Group Leader at Signify is dynamic. You lead one of the teams of the Philips Hue platform and work closely with the other platform teams in Eindhoven. We’re greater together through peer learning in our globally diverse team, with different backgrounds and nationalities.

We’re looking for a Group Leader who is integrally responsible for both the people and delivery leadership of all R&D activities related to the Philips Hue platform. You work with the respective Product Owner(s) regarding the planning, development, delivery, and operations of all of the services of the Philips Hue platform. You are part of the Signify Hue Connected team in Bangalore (India) and its responsibilities are to transform how consumers globally use lighting in their home and to unlock the extraordinary potential of light, so a consumer innovation mindset must be in your DNA.

What you’ll do

• Lead and develop a passionate team of engineers to build, test and operate your software products.
• Lead the content and execution for the Philips Hue platform services and features in close alignment with product management as well as the R&D and PMO leaders.
• Enable the Product Owners and Scrum Masters to do their jobs effectively and efficiently.
• Drive continuous improvement in our ways of working on planning, software engineering, integration, testing and operation.
• Work closely with the rest of the Hue Connected Business management team to drive innovation and further excellence in our way of working for our business.

What you’ll need

• A consumer innovation mindset with ability to engage directly with product owners to arrive at the optimal program for creating business and consumer value within our resource constraints.
• People leadership experience with a proven track record of building, coaching and growing teams to excellence.
• Deep experience in software development and related processes across one of more of the following domains: Cloud Development (front-end as well as back-end), Embedded Linux development, and/or Mobile App development.
• Knowledge and experience in developing and deploying features and services with high availability, low latency, offering high security and safeguarding privacy.
• Experience leading complex projects within the software domain.
