• Work on reliability and performance aspects for core database infrastructures that allow Adobe products to scale.
• Partner with Engineering teams and database vendors on roadmap planning and architectural discussions to ensure we have architectures in place to scale for the future
• Implement solutions for automating deployment, provisioning and handling large-scale database environments
• Drive initiatives in collaboration with multi-functional teams and beyond to define, implement, measure, and report on SLx for our infrastructure and services.
• Analyze database solutions and implement standard processes
• Work on and implement standard processes in observability (monitoring, tracing, alerting, logging) and incident response
• You will build out automation to address database problems like failovers, backups, restores, schema changes, and performance tuning that integrate with Site reliability capabilities.
• Drive Database Migrations to Cloud Managed database Solutions.
• Strive for automation either by coding or by leading and influencing developers, to build systems that run automatically in both stage and production environments.
• Design, Develop, and Improve operational processes and automation using infrastructure-as-code (IaaC) tools such as Terraform, Chef, or Crossplane.
• Participate in a cross-regional on-call rotation to mitigate production issues using follow-the-sun model.
• Collaborate effectively with other engineers in the team and in the larger reliability engineering org
• Use domain expertise to consult application development teams, providing guidance and database architecture solutions
• Document every action so your findings turn into repeatable actions and then into automation
• Participate in RCAs and take action items to mitigate issues and come up with a roadmap
• Propose and drive architectural changes for the services we own to solve scaling and performance problems
• Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with distributed teams and inter-dependent services

• 7 to 10 years of experience in DBRE/DBA and SRE roles with strong focus on tooling, automation, coding and operations.
• At least 3 years plus of experience building Cloud services and distributed systems – deployment, monitoring, scaling, debugging
• Experience with NoSQL and SQL databases; NOSQL - MongoDB, Cassandra; RDBMS - MySQL, Galera Cluster, PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Cloud database technologies such as AWS RDS, AWS Keyspaces, Azure SQL/CosmosDB, MongoDB Atlas, and Datastax Astra
• Good software development skills in Python/GO/Perl.Ruby or similar languages for scripting and automation
• Technical expertise in areas such as Observability (e.g., Prometheus, Alert Manager, New Relic), Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g., Terraform, Chef, Crossplane), and CICD (e.g., Argo, Jenkins).
• Proficiency and hands-on experience in container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (Operators, Helm Charts)
• Experience in migrating databases to cloud.
• Have solid understanding of internals of MongoDB, Cassandra and MySQL.
• Good understanding of Linux OS concepts and of Linux and Unix Shell.
• You have experience in automation and tool development
• Deep understanding of cluster management areas, such as scaling, consistency tuning, replication, and multi-region configuration
• Experience in securing, monitoring, Alerting, full-proof DR, backup & recovery for distributed database systems
• Experience collaborating with software engineers to define operating procedures and practices related to the database, including schema design, query optimization, and CI/CD practices
• Proficient in multi cloud environments: AWS, Azure
