Ruby on Rails Developer

What You'll Do:

• Build scalable RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA, and other Engineers to deliver features.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term fixes.
• Work with relational databases and optimize complex SQL queries.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design discussions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.

What You Know:

• Strong hands-on experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
• Good understanding of MVC architecture and Rails conventions.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL/MySQL and database design principles.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
• Experience writing unit, integration, and functional tests using RSpec, Minitest, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with Sidekiq, ActiveJob, or other background job processing frameworks.
• Understanding of Redis, caching strategies, and application performance optimization.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.).
• Knowledge of frontend technologies such as JavaScript, React Experience with Elasticsearch, Solr, or other search technologies.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Datadog, New Relic, Splunk.
• Experience working on microservices or distributed systems.
• Exposure to event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a Ruby on Rails, or equivalent practical experience and 4 to 7 years of professional experience as a Ruby on Rails engineer.
