Reports to:                        Head of Scientific & Regulatory Affairs, APAC  


Location :                          Mumbai/ Gurgaon, Delhi

The Scientific & Regulatory Affairs (SRA) Manager, APAC, should be comfortable to travel between the two cities, as required. The ideal candidate would be experienced with multi-national ingredient or consumer product companies.  They should be able to work independently with limited supervision, leveraging regulatory knowledge and professional networks, to conduct regulatory assessments, provide insights and guidance to enable and support growth of the Ingredion portfolio across the APAC region.   with particular focus on on ASEAN countries and India.


We are looking for an excellent communicator, both internally developing relationships with cross-functional business partners, and externally with industry partners, regulatory authorities, and scientific community.  Fluency in English language is essential, and in addition language skills in Bahasa Indonesia would be advantageous (highly desirable although not essential).


As the Scientific & Regulatory Affairs (SRA) Manager your responsibilities will include:


  • Advise on applicable regulations & provide regulatory guidance with possible interpretation and regulatory pathways for product formula design, raw materials & end products.
  • May serve as a regional/local regulatory lead and point of contact with regulatory authorities for products.
  • Manage interactions with internal and external customers to address any regional regulatory concerns.
  • Actively monitor, identify, and communicate relevant regulatory opportunities, insights on relevant regulations, including proposed, draft, and final legislations.
  • Where needed, represent company interests in trade associations to positively influence industry positions & future legislation to affect benefit to the business.
  • Manage regulatory programs within the assigned business portfolio by reviewing regulatory requirements for new & existing products.
  • Lead regulatory input to the development of integrated processes/IT systems.
  • Provide regulatory support and steer on production registrations in target markets in the region. 

Qualified candidates will have:


Mandatory requirements:


  • Relevant degree and/or postgraduate in Food Science/Chemistry/Biochemistry/Applied Sciences
  • Extensive experience in a regional regulatory affairs role (food & non-food regulation).
  • Familiarity and understanding of APAC regulatory requirements including SEA regulations & Codex standards would be an added advantage.
  • Ability to read & converse in a Southeast Asian (SEA) local language (e.g. Bahasa Indonesia) would be an additional advantage.
  • Familiarity with ingredients/additives, including blends (food/non-food) regulatory landscape and market trends.  
  • Strong track record and technically savvy in external engagement and Regulatory Affairs function, able to provide expertise and guidance on product submissions with relevant authorities.

  • Excellent planning, prioritisation, and organisational skills.
  • Strong at building relationships with both team members and other business departments and experience of working with global & regional cross-functional teams.
