The Customer Engagement & Experience role proactively collaborates across functions-including Customer Success, Sales, Support, and product and engineering teams-to ensure a unified customer experience throughout the lifecycle, effectively managing time, communications, and expectations. Acting as a technical liaison between customer environments and Cisco product teams, the role provides feedback to influence product evolution and ensure compatibility with real-world use cases. In Solution Delivery & Technical Execution, the role is responsible for designing, deploying, optimizing, migrating, and troubleshooting security solutions that extend or enhance Cisco products, enabling seamless integration with customer environments and third-party systems. It serves as a focal point for proactive problem resolution, offers timely support across Cisco and third-party technologies, applies deep knowledge of security frameworks, threat models, and regulatory standards to help customers build resilient, scalable, and policy-aligned architectures, develops and reviews technical deliverables to support customer engagements and enable long-term self-sufficiency, and leverages AI and automation to enhance delivery efficiency, innovation, and customer outcomes. The role also develops vertical market expertise to better translate customer business needs into technical solutions, integrates Cisco and non-Cisco security technologies in complex, multi-vendor environments to ensure interoperability and policy alignment, and contributes to knowledge sharing and the development of security-focused intellectual capital, including reusable assets, best practices, and compliance templates.
What you’ll do:
•In this role, you will work on intermediate security projects, including the implementation of basic controls and policy configurations.
•You will expand your understanding of a security domain and third-party security product integrations, learning how these solutions align with customer environments. •Your contributions will impact your team as well as related teams, often within a highly matrixed environment.
•As you engage with customers with increasing independence, you will begin to build and strengthen customer relationships.
•You will participate in customer meetings to understand their needs and map customer outcomes to project scope, aligning with the end-to-end plan where available.
•By developing a working understanding of customer security goals, risk posture, and compliance requirements, you will identify underutilized features and collate usage insights.
•Your ability to build relationships and develop trust will be reinforced through consistent follow-through and collaboration with internal and partner teams.
•You will connect and communicate project activities to medium-term customer outcomes such as functionality, scalability, and performance.
•With growing independence, you will develop project scopes aligned to customer security goals, leveraging AI and automation tools.
•You will apply a range of security consulting tools and techniques, such as risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and compliance mapping, to support planning and delivery.
•You will co-develop deliverables and work to improve documentation quality.
•Serving as an initial focal point for implementation and migration issues, you will understand vulnerabilities and communicate proposed resolutions and rationales to customers.
•You will build and use test environments to resolve issues, following quality standards and frameworks such as ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.
•Demonstrating a working knowledge of Cisco and other fundamental security technologies—including identity management, SIEM, and DLP—you will also exhibit intermediate skills in automation, scripting, and orchestration, along with a basic understanding of DevSecOps practices.
•You will provide updates to support knowledge transfer, explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
•By gathering lessons learned and best practices, you will help create and refine intellectual capital, contributing to a repository of best practices, modular reusable templates, and standardized materials for the team.
•You will apply AI tools to streamline routine tasks, freeing time for learning and higher-impact work. Staying informed on automation, threat intelligence, compliance, and AI-driven security tools and trends, you will validate AI outputs appropriately.
•An entry-level security certification, such as Cisco CyberOps Associate or CompTIA Security+, is required.
•You will apply foundational consulting and collaboration skills to communicate, manage expectations, and adapt plans as needed.
•Collaboration across internal teams—including Senior Customer Engineers (CEs), Cisco Account Teams, and Partners—will help you understand the range of solutions offered to customers.
•You will take ownership of team deliverables and build connections to solve problems, contributing to a unified customer experience. Additionally, you will begin mentoring junior or newer engineers in development tools and practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors + 2 years of related experience, or
Masters + 0 years of related experience,
