The GPS Delivery - Record Keeping is a team of around 200 people whose role is to develop and maintain the systems-of-records we use to administer the persions and investments of our 1.5m+ workplace and retail customers in UK.  In doing this we critical to the delivery of our core product and value proposition to these clients today and in future.

About your role
This role is for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Analyst Programmer to work within the GFAS Product development team. The successful candidate will be expected to work on development projects to enhance existing, and develop new, integration and business services, centred on RPG


The role requires close working with colleagues in the UK offices, and as such the candidate may be required to work UK business hours sometimes.  On occasions the candidate may also be required to work extended hours/weekends to cover changes and release implementations, for example.   This demanding role would perfectly suit a dynamic individual looking to work in a fast paced environment to ensure the smooth running of business critical systems.  


About you


  • B.E./B.Tech./M.C.A. in Computer Science/Computer Science Engineering/Information Technology from a reputed University.
  • Proven 4 years of experience working on AS/400 (i-series) application development
  • Exposure to SOA and web services integration, including external service integrations on i-series
  • Experience integrating Java components with i-series systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across various phases of the development lifecycle   
  • Knowledge of XML technologies including DTD and XSD, and exposure to JSON-based data exchange
  • Understanding of API usage, caching mechanisms, and messaging systems
  • Knowledge of developing REST API–based applications using the Spring Framework
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and application integration patterns
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Proficiency in database design and development, including SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and DB2
  • Experience delivering solutions using Agile methodologies
  • Exposure to AWS cloud platforms and building scalable, high‑performance applications
  • Exposure to DevOps tools with CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of testing frameworks such as JUnit, and experience with TDD practices
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB and cloud data platforms like Snowflake
  • Knowledge of MQ, Topics, and ETL processes
  • Responsibility to ensure project deliverables conforms to business requirements/objectives.
  • Understand the requirements, evaluate potential products / solutions and provide technical recommendations.
  • Be “hands on” with technology and to contribute to the design and development of projects where deemed necessary.
  • Liaison with the Project manager/Project Leader to ensure successful deliveries.
  • General understanding of application architecture, tooling, and technologies used within the project
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to work as a strong team player while also demonstrating ownership and accountability.
  • Capacity to operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels, balancing long-term objectives with day-to-day execution.
  • Ability to convey critical or challenging messages in a clear, respectful, and appropriately firm manner.
  • Flexibility to work across different time zones when necessary.
  • Proactive approach to staying current with evolving industry practices, analysis and design methodologies, tools, techniques, and emerging technologies.
  • High level of self-motivation, with a demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality design and development outcomes.
  • Ability to develop, manage, and sustain effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders, including testing and quality assurance professionals.
  • Adaptability and an open, flexible attitude toward change in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including lateral thinking and the ability to consider both medium-term and long-term impacts.
  • Ability to quickly learn and become proficient in complex business processes and technology environments.
