Design, develop, and automate tools and processes to support large-scale provisioning, deployment, and management of cloud platform technologies.
Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is a professional who serves as a bridge between Development, Operations, Network, and DBA teams, taking on operational tasks to ensure the efficient functioning of the infrastructure. The role is responsible for monitoring, automating, and continuously improving the reliability and performance of cloud and on-premise environments.
The ideal candidate should have 7–12 years of experience in cloud infrastructure management, including a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in VMware environments (VCN, ESXi, patching, upgrades, DRS, HA, vSAN, etc.) and experience with other virtualization technologies. Additionally, the candidate must have at least 4 years of hands-on experience with Linux infrastructure, along with DevOps skills in configuring, administering, and maintaining application pods and containerized environments.
Key Responsibilities & Skills
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu) including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, patching, and performance tuning.
• Extensive experience in Linux system administration, including server provisioning, configuration management, patching, and performance optimization in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in troubleshooting complex Linux system issues, including kernel, memory, CPU, disk I/O, and network performance analysis.
• Good understanding of Linux system architecture, including CPU, memory management, file systems, networking, and system services.
• Hands-on experience with automation and scripting using Bash, Python, or Ansible to automate system administration and operational tasks.
• Experience managing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows using tools such as Jenkins, Git, and related automation platforms.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with containerized and cloud-native environments, including managing Linux systems in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and KVM, including VM provisioning, configuration, and administration.
• Experience working with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or similar platforms.
• Hands-on experience in installation, configuration, and performance tuning of distributed systems such as Oracle, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Kafka, Redis, and Ceph in multi–data center environments.
• Strong understanding of Linux security and compliance, including system hardening, access control, SELinux policies, firewall configuration, and vulnerability management.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for production issues, infrastructure incidents, and system performance optimization.
• Strong hands-on experience in SAN storage administration including provisioning, configuration, and management of enterprise storage systems such as NetApp, Hitachi G200, and HPE Nimble.
• Strong experience in SAN fabric management including configuration and administration of Brocade/Cisco SAN switches, fabric monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Expertise in SAN zoning and LUN provisioning including creating zones, managing initiators and targets, storage mapping, and ensuring proper connectivity between hosts and storage arrays.
• Experience in storage performance tuning and troubleshooting including analyzing latency, IOPS, throughput, and resolving storage bottlenecks in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of storage infrastructure management including capacity planning, storage •replication, backup integration, and maintaining high availability in multi-datacenter environments.
