Role


You will be the part of FLSmidth’ s Mining Engineering team and responsible for automation of mining products for all FLSmidth products


As a Senior CPQ specialist, you will be an individual contributor working with a team of people who supports the CPQ/CTO team across Mining products in the areas of Proposal, Pricing documents along with product optimization.By joining this team you will have the opportunity to work in an international environment with a variety of challenges.


Your responsibilities


  • Proficiently analyze product data, specifications, and engineering rules to facilitate CPQ modeling.
  • Lead the construction and refinement of CPQ model structures, adhering to industry-leading methodologies.
  • Expertise in understanding and evaluating Sales BOM, EBOM, and MBOM for seamless integration into CPQ systems.
  • Develop diverse pricing methodologies and discounting strategies tailored to specific business needs.
  • Maintain a robust CPQ data model, configuration structures, product rules, pricing, and discounting parameters.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the CPQ data model through collaboration with the engineering team for input and validation.
  • Implement optimizations to enhance the performance of existing CPQ models, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop rules and scripts integral to the functionality of the CPQ model, ensuring seamless operation and adherence to business requirements.
  • Analyze as-sold BOMs and collaborate with regional teams to standardize global BOMs with flexibility for contextualization.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for enhancing CPQ modeling, documentation practices, and pricing methodologies to drive continuous improvement in quality, timeliness, cost-effectiveness, and service delivery.

What you bring


  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience in CPQ (Configure to Order) implementation, specifically in a CPQ modeler role within custom or industry-standard applications.
  • Experience in designing and maintaining engineering for complex products in Engineer to Order (ETO) and Configure to Order (CTO) environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or similar, with hands-on experience in CPQ tools like Tacton, Rulestream, Configit, or similar platforms.
  • Preferably, exposure to CAD tools and CAD automation.
  • Preferred experience in integrating data with products such as Salesforce, SAP, Enovia, Teamcenter, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, coupled with technical acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas.
  • Sufficient technical proficiency to effectively collaborate with technical teams in building and validating solutions.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills are preferable.
