We are looking for a Data Engineer with 5–10 years of experienceto translateValmet’s business requirements into scalable data solutions andbuildnew data products. You have provenexpertisein data platforms and data modelling, together with a strong understanding of modern data ecosystems, including data lakes, data warehouses, and data governance. As part of a global team, you will help design, build, andmaintainreporting and data solutions that support enterprise-wide data and analytics initiatives.



Depending on your background andexpertise, your responsibilities could include: 



  • Translate business process requirements into data requirements and solution designs.



  • Design, build, andmaintainscalable and reliable data pipelines for collecting, transforming, and loading data from diverse sources.



  • Design,validate, and test data products to ensure quality, reliability, and business fit.



  • Support,maintain, and continuously develop existing reporting and analytics solutions.



  • Collaborate with the external AMS team to resolve major incidents and recurring issues.



What we are looking for



  • At least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. 



  • 5+ years of experience in data warehousing, analytics, and reporting development.



  • Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data and analytics platforms.



  • Strong hands-onproficiencyin SQL databases, stored procedures, and query development.



  • Experience with Microsoft Azure services, especially technologies related to data platforms and integration.



  • Experience working with IT, business stakeholders, and development partners in a collaborative environment.



  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.



  • Strong communicationskills in English.



  • A proactive mindset and interest in following industry trends and best practices.



Experience in any of the following is considered an advantage:




  • Experience with Data Vault architecture or modelling.



  • Experience with Power BI.



  • Experience with Python and Spark.



  • Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.



  • Finnish language skills or the ability to work and communicate in Finnish.
