Role description:
This role is part of Arcadis’ Global Excellence Centre (GEC) and will join our 3,000+ talented individuals working in India, Romania, and Philippines, in partnership with Arcadis’ offices globally. You’ll be part of our industry-leading team Transmissions and Distributions teams, acting as partners to our clients, building a deep understanding of their challenges and applying your expertise to solve them.
As a Senior/Principal Substation Engineer you will be working on engineering and construction projects primarily in industrial, transmission/distribution and renewable sectors. You must be able to appreciate complex, practical, regulatory, technical and commercial issues and to work constructively with a broad range of senior stakeholders.
Role accountabilities:
Client liaison from initial contact through project delivery
· Delivering small to medium sized projects throughout project lifecycle
· Producing electrical engineering deliverables where appropriate
· Liaise with CAD Engineers to determine safe, cost effective substation design solutions
In addition, you will assist in the delivery of project-related tasks to meet budget, timeframe, and quality targets, promoting all facets of Arcadis services during interfaces with. Contributing towards the achievement of the divisional business plan your role will be key to maintain and exceed our client’s expectations and to build networks within the industry.

Qualifications & Experience:
Degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering
· Experience working as a substation/plant design engineer to regulated industry standards
· Preparation of 33kV,132,275 and 400kV Substation primary equipment design deliverables, feasibility studies, reports, programmes and cost estimating
· Broad knowledge of transmission technologies and a good understanding of how these technologies influence the operation and performance of the transmission system
· Can demonstrate success in delivering engineering and or projects safely to budget, time and quality that meets customer expectations
· Ability of working with internal and external parties and working within a strong team-working culture.
· Experience in writing clear and concise documentation.
