About the Role


Our Strategic Communications team in India provides our clients with a comprehensive view of strategic communications that leverages our integrated suite of services, including financial communications, corporate reputation, transaction communications and public affairs in all the major markets around the world.


We are seeking to hire an experienced public affairs professional to join an ambitious and growing team. The position is located in the firm's New Delhi office and will be focused on the public affairs and strategic communications practices. The candidate should have a proven ability to both service client companies on a day-to-day basis and contribute to new business development, as well as a strong interest in developing a strategic approach to communications that includes solid deliverables, excellent written and verbal communications skills and an ability to help manage junior team members as a collegiate team player.


Senior Director-level positions typically are between 15-20 years, but this is indicative only and exceptions will be made for exceptional candidates.


The candidate should be a strategic thinker, mature, possess high empathy, results-oriented, and have good people skills. This is important as the role requires providing strategic communications counsel to senior clients’ teams and managing team members. We are looking for enthusiastic learners who want to utilize new approaches to communications as part of a leading global communications consultancy business and build an international career.


Key Responsibilities


  • Day-to-day management of public affairs and strategic communications client accounts.
  • Work as part of a highly motivated public affairs team in India and build up the public affairs practice.
  • Work with senior management to develop the firm’s overall India plan, and consolidate India’s role within the firm’s global network.
  • Provide strong input to the development of the firm’s strategic direction in the India market, based on experience of the country’s political, business and economic environments.
  • Work with senior management to develop plans for business development, with particular emphasis on public affairs and strategic communications
  • Provide input for the New Delhi office’s participation in marketing and promotional activities, in India and within Asia.
  • Lead the creation of high quality written materials for all business development activities.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members and help them to grow with the company.

Key Requirements


  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written
  • University degree or higher
  • Track record of providing public affairs consultancy for local and international clients
  • New business development skills (ability to develop strategies, proposals, etc.
  • Experience in risk and issues management, crisis communications and advocacy is a plus
  • Excellent presentation style and skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • An ability to be independent, work under own direction and manage own time
  • A collegiate approach to working in a diverse team across the Asia region and also globally
