Job Overview
Key ResponsibilitiesMicroservices Design & Development
- Design and develop scalable, cloud-native microservices usingJava (17/21)and theSpring Bootframework.
- Utilize theHelix Platformto build, package, and deploy standalone components, reusable blueprints, and serverlessKnative Functions.
- Ensure clean code architecture, adhering to enterprise design patterns, SOLID principles, and RESTful API standards.
Cloud Orchestration & Service Mesh
- Deploy, manage, and scale microservices onRed Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP)and Kubernetes.
- Configure and manage service-to-service communication, traffic routing, and observability usingService Mesh(Istio-based control plane).
- Define and maintainHelm chartsfor consistent, repeatable application deployments across environments.Database Integration & Management
- Integrate microservices with Citi'sDatabase as a Service (DBaaS)platform.
- Work with relational and non-relational databases, including:
- PostgreSQL as a Service (PGaaS)(utilizing PG Vector for advanced search capabilities).
- MongoDB as a Service (MaaS)(leveraging multi-datacenter high availability and sharding).
- Oracle as a Service (OraaS)(ensuring high-availability and automated scaling).
Security & Secret Management
- Implement robust application security and credential management usingHashiCorp Vault.
- Configure and manage Vault roles (Kubernetes ServiceAccounts, AppRoles, and PKI roles) to secure application secrets.
- UtilizeVault Agentsidecars in Kubernetes/OpenShift to dynamically inject and render secrets into application pods.
CI/CD & DevOps Automation
- Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines usingLightspeed Enterprise(Tekton and Harness) andLightspeed Classic(Jenkins shared libraries and uDeploy).
- Integrate automated quality and security gates into the build process, includingSonarQubefor code quality,Checkmarxfor static analysis, andSnykfor vulnerability scanning.
- Manage source code repositories usingBitbucketandGitHub Enterprise, adhering to branch protection rules and pull request workflows.
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Education:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Java Expertise:5+ years of professional software development experience withJava (17 or higher)andSpring Boot / Spring Cloud.
- Containerization:Strong experience withDocker,Kubernetes, andRed Hat OpenShift (OCP).
- Service Mesh:Hands-on experience withIstioor equivalent Service Mesh technologies for traffic management and observability.
- Database Systems:Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, specificallyPostgreSQL,MongoDB, andOracle.
- Security:Experience withHashiCorp Vault(secret engines, Vault Agent, and role-based access control).
- CI/CD Tools:Experience with modern CI/CD platforms such asTekton,Harness,Jenkins, anduDeploy.
- Testing & Quality:Strong commitment to quality, with experience inJUnit,Mockito,SonarQube, and security scanning tools (Snyk,Checkmarx).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a large-scale financial institution or highly regulated enterprise environment.
- Familiarity with GenAI integrations and platforms (e.g., R2D2, Stylus Workspaces).
- Experience with Agile methodologies, Jira, and Confluence.
