Role summary:


As a proposal engineer, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end proposal development process for complex spare parts and modernization (Upgrades & Retrofits) projects. This role ensures that proposals are technically accurate, commercially sound, and submitted on time. The Proposal Engineer acts as a key interface between sales, engineering, sourcing, and execution teams, supporting global and regional needs with a focus on standardization, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.


Your responsibilities


  • Lead the preparation of technical-commercial proposals for complex spare parts and modernization projects (U&R), based on customer RFQs, specifications, and site conditions, with input from site account managers and product specialists
  • Review customer requirements and understand scope elements
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Sourcing, Planning, and Sales to collect inputs for scope, cost, and lead times
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GA layouts and technical documents.
  • Ensure proposals are submitted on time, aligned with internal approval processes and margin targets
  • Standardize proposal templates, pricing formats, and scope documentation for consistency across regions
  • Support Sales and Regional teams during customer interactions, including technical clarifications and deviation handling
  • Ensure all proposal documents are properly stored, version-controlled, and handed over to execution teams post-award
  • Track and report proposal KPIs including turnaround time, success rate, and accuracy, as sold vs delivered.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives to streamline the proposal process, reduce cycle time, and increase hit rate, including maintaining product specific database for quick budget price development.
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines, legal standards, and approval protocols in all proposal activities
What you bring
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Chemical engineering from a reputed University.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in handling comminution equipments in Minerals industries mainly Crusher, Milling and Pyro products 
  • Ability to interpret the test report & equipment technical documents
  • Should have basic knowledge of proposal process flow for both domestic & global environment including equipment sizing, bill of materials, proposal documentation, etc.
  • Knowledge of cost estimation methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Heavy Parts Manufacturing
  • Good communication skills to co-ordinate with internal and global teams
  • Ability to work as a part of a team and well as to work independently
  • Drives proposal creation through a practical approach.
  • Ability to complete tasks on time without compromising on processes
  • Ability to read the engineering drawings including Bill of materials/ parts lists
