The Opportunity

OpenText is seeking a Software Developer  to work on the architecture, design, and implementation of the enterprise server protection product, which is of a large scale, highly distributed server protection product.  This product covers backup of on-premises and cloud-based workloads. The ideal candidate needs to be forward-looking and pragmatic at solving problems and must have excellent communication skills.

You are good at:

• Should be able to independently develop complex software
• Takes ownership of code quality. Actively and effectively reviews source code, takes defect prevention steps in software developed. 
• Interacts well with peers and communicates in a clear and concise manner both verbally and written on his/her work. 
• Actively participate and contribute to analysis, design, planning, processes, etc., Raise issues where needed and create sensitivity towards timely resolution of problems.
• Adopt agile development methodologies and test-driven development.

What it takes:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Experience with C/C++
• Exposure to Angular, scripting languages, socket programming and inter-process communication (IPC).
• Good communication skills.
• Desire to work in an exciting and challenging atmosphere.
• Exposure to UNIX platforms; Linux and SOLARIS or HP-UX or AIX, etc.
• Knowledge of data protection (Enterprise backup and restore) business space
• Experience or exposure to Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hypervisor, etc.)
• Knowledge of database technologies
