Cigna International Healthis seeking a skilled Cloud Data Engineer to architect, develop, and optimise robust data solutions on cloud platforms. This role is pivotal in building andmaintainingthe foundational data infrastructure that supports scalable, secure, and high-performance applications for our UAE operations.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership: 

• Designandimplementscalablesolutions onAWS,buildandmaintaindatapipelinesandcloud-nativeprocessing systems.

  
  

• Providetechnicaldirection andownershipoftheAPI stackdisciplinewithintheapplicationdevelopment. 

  
  

• Define and implement software engineering strategyalignedwith the overall business and productobjectives.

  
  

• Contributeacrossdesign,development,deploymentandsupportofcloud-basedapplication.

  
  

• Help define and enforceapplications developmentstandards,policies,and bestpractices.

  
  

Mentoring: 

• Leadandmentorjuniorsoftware development teammembers, fostering a culture of innovation,automation,collaboration, and excellence.

  
  

• Takeanactive part incareer developmentandperformanceof junior software development teammembers.

  
  

Project Delivery: 

• Collaborate withcross-functionalteams andexecutesoftware projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

  
  

• Executeproject plans and application designs to ensure projects are aligned with standards and IT strategy.

  
  

• Followthe design principles, and developmentbest practicesto ensure scalable, secure, and efficient solutions, collaboratingwithother senior leads.

  
  

Requirements

Experience:

• 6+ years in software/data engineering roles, with a strongtrack recordin cloud-native data solutions.

  
  

• Provenexpertisein AWS services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, KMS, ECS/EKS, CloudFront, ALB/NLB).

  
  

• Hands-on experience with Terraform (or similarIaCtools) for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure.

  
  

• Strong data engineering skills, including building and optimising ETL/ELT pipelines.

  
  

• Proficiencyin SQL (preferred) and Python/Pyspark(required for automation and data processing).

  
  

• Experience with API development, security (OAuth 2.0, JWT), and documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger).

  
  

• Experiencein Databricks is a plus.

  
  

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).

  
  

Leadership & Communication:

• Demonstrated ability to mentor technical teams.

  
  

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  
  

Education:

• Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Software/Data Engineering, or a related field.

  
  

Desirable:

• Knowledge ofdata platforms and governance, experience inDatabricksasengineeris a plus.

  
  

• Experience working in regulated environments or with multi-region/multi-currency systems.

  
  

• Familiarity with agile methodologies and iterative delivery.

  
  

• Exposure to Jira or similar project management tools.
