Your role and responsibilities

● Technical Acumen:: Develop a strong technical understanding of the Confluent technologies and use this effectively to discover new customer use cases and build compelling solutions ● Technical Discovery and POC/Pilot Solutions: Gather customer requirements, identify use cases, and facilitate the development of Proof of Concept (POC)/Pilot solutions. Partner with Confluent stakeholders to aid customers in overcoming technical challenges during initial blueprinting and use case deployment. ● Value Selling: Clear articulation of Confluent's technical and product positioning to a wide variety of business and technical stakeholders, and for forging strong relationships with them throughout the sales cycle and beyond. ● Prospect Demos and Evangelization: Collaborate with Confluent's Account Executives (AEs) and Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) to bring our offerings to new prospects. Craft and deliver tailored demos that go beyond the standard, showcasing the unique value proposition Confluent has to offer. ● Customer Engagement: Offer technical expertise in driving customer consumption through monthly customer health reports, Quarterly Business Reviews, and Quarterly Technical Reviews. ● Knowledge Sharing, Workshops, and Training: Support cross-functional teams, including Field Marketing, Partner Solutions by conducting training sessions and workshops/webinars for customers, partners, prospects, and internal teams to educate them on Confluent's platform/cloud, features, and best practices. ● RFP/Vendor risk assessment Support: Contribute to vendor risk assessments to ensure a comprehensive understanding of potential risks and opportunities associated with proposed solutions. Assist in answering Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs). ● Technical Artifact Creation and Maintenance: Architect, build, and maintain reusable artifacts, including tools, prototypes, demos, workshops, and architecture blueprints. ● Global Presence through Rotational Coverage: Efficiently cover diverse time zones with rotational cycles: 8 AM - 5 PM for APAC, 2 PM - 11 PM for EMEA, and 6 PM - 3 AM for the Americas. This approach ensures optimal availability across the globe, emphasizing our commitment to exceptional service and customer satisfaction





Required education
Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

Technical degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent. ● Experience in Solutions Engineering, Presales or any technical selling roles with software Development, Data Engineering background ● Knowledge about building solutions with Apache Kafka Knowledge about distributed systems, infrastructure software like databases, message queues, Kubernetes, serverless, API gateways, cloud networking constructs, and/or Big Data products ● Understanding of systems operations concepts (disk, network, operating systems, etc.). ● Knowledge of working with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and/or Software as a Service (SaaS) ● Development language agnostic, good to have experience with Java, Python, SQL ● Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies. ● Experience with configuration management, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD tooling(e.g., Terraform, Ansible) is a plus. ● Exceptional presentation and communications capabilities. ● High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations





Preferred technical and professional experience

Knowledge about building ETL applications. ● Knowledge about building and operating large-scale massively parallel systems. ● Development or operations experience in a cloud-based environment. ● Experience with DevOps culture and Agile software development. ● AWS Solutions Architect Associate or equivalent in other cloud providers, Confluent Certifications. ● Prior customer-facing roles
